Really liked the E-tron livery, but I was hoping for a Toyota upset win.
LMP1 with more competitors(Porsche, re-entry of a French brand, and maybe even a US brand) would be my new favorite motorsport.

What's that Oscar Wilde quote? "To lose one parent may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness"...
...likelihood of Audi dropping McNish in 2013?

...likelihood of Audi dropping McNish in 2013? It would make a change from McNish dropping an Audi.

You think, if Sky took this on and had multi cameras / drivers etc, it could be amazing. But no, retards at Eurosport conspire to ruin it for everyone 'Editing' of a live event? Clearly, you have no idea.

I wish Audi had more competition.. Was basically an Audi win before it started.
Hopefully next year will be better!

Don't eurosport then add in interviews from their own pitlane interviewers ontop though?

They do English interviews with drivers who speak English and French/German interviews with others we don't see, or Mark Cole translates in the box. None of the British Eurosport team including Blobby Cock actually speak to them in their ear pieces. The commentators just get told (occasionally) by the part-time French director if they are going to go live to an interview.

it was annoying that the only in-car views we got were from the Audi LMP car. and that the delta wing hardly got any air time at all. and all the f king slomo!!! even worse towards the end, great racing going on with the porka and corvette.. but the cameras are watching the f king audis that are doing nothing much!!

This annoys me a lot.. We've got 24hrs to watch Audis going round in procession, yet theres proper racing going on further back.. Do we see any of it? Nope. I'm grateful we get a whole 24hr race on TV, but it's abit of a piss poor showing of it.

The slow mo pissed me off, along with all those whooshy sounds. Was it the same director as Monaco? Agreed there must be more competition, Porsche slated to enter in 2014, surely if Ferrari or McLaren could be bothered they would be in with a shout of winning overall?

and how often in f1 did we see producers follwing leaders doing f k all while there was an interesting battle further down the field? theres no doubt it is frustrating, really frustrating, but to damn the eurosport coverage is stupid! like sky, or even more laughable the bbc are going to cover one race, for once in a year, for 24 hours! we had a dedicated stream with no adverts for 24 hours, with commentary from RLM and a bloody good effort they put in too! that lot cost me £3! i'd happily pay 5 times that, i was more informed, and saw so much more than any time i've been to le mans, it wasn't perfect, and the commentators got on my tits with sbout 5 hours to go, but credit where it's due, they did a good job with what they had imho.

I've met the woman, both at Le Mans and at her riding school/stables in Sussex. She is extremely pleasant and polite. She was riding a dirty great big horse near Turner Engineering where I was going. I recognised her but not where from - she'd driven a T400R some four or five years previously - and so this fat old bloke went up to her just to say more or less who are you. She recognised me almost at once. She asked me what I was doing, how the car club was going and how sorry she was about the apparent demise of TVR. It seemed to me that politeness is her natural state so perhaps she didn't know how to reply to such a post. She comes from a family line of sports car drivers. She is talking on a 24-hour race. Nothing really happens for hours at a time. They are there to fill in the silences. The team does an extremely difficult job well. Dear god, don't let Sky in on the deal. The Audis are in the lead. They occupy the podium. There's nothing to say and their job is to say it. I reckon she's good, but then I think the whole team is very good. It is Europort's jewel in the crown. Even if I thought the team were poor I hope I would not resort to rudeness on Twitter. How juvenile is that?

I paid 4.99 for my access to the eurosport player, and was very impressed. I never had the commentary on at all, just the 24hr feed, and there were no ads, just uninterrupted coverage and rather pleasant car noises. Radio LM on as well, and it was a great viewing experience, much better than surfing around all the time trying to find a working feed.

Thankfully that appears to be less the case with TV coverage this and recent seasons. Have others noticed that with F1 coverage recently ? There was a time when F1 TV directors consistently didn't have a clue and missing some splendid action or worse still, cutting away for commercials just when you and I could see some real action shaping up. Hope that is a thing of the past now.... permanently.

If the WRC does get worse, then a Citroen/Peugeot hybrid with S.Loeb at the wheel would be ideal. The guy can drive a prototype as he's shown in the past. Can you really see PSA doing that though?

There was a time when F1 TV directors consistently didn't have a clue and missing some splendid action or worse still, cutting away for commercials just when you and I could see some real action shaping up. Hope that is a thing of the past now.... permanently. That's because Bernie took it in-house and uses his own director(s) who are skilled at covering F1 and are less partisan. Or more consistent at least. It's been years since a local director was allowed anywhere near a F1 race.
