Shame we didn't get better results this weekend, it was honestly the best I've driven since I was getting top 5's in Carrera Cup and I don't think I could have found more than a few more tenths. Absolutely drove the bloody wheels off the thing, almost literally as I kept buckling wheels on the kerbs!
We're now getting a much clearer picture of our deficiencies though, so hopefully we can use this 5 week break to sort stuff out.
I need to eat my words then. I didn't see the off I just saw him come past us with damage and the golf not come past at all. I said he shouldn't be allowed to drive as he's always involved in something :/ Oops Slag him off on twitter for it anyways, he's quite an angry chap, usually gets quite entertaining

Chris James deleted it after getting his bum smacked by the powers that be for his antics. Telling fans to "come and have a go if you think your hard enough" isn't really acceptable. Nice result in the Minis Emicen. Good to see Ollie's Golf getting some TV coverage in the battle with Tony Gilham. Some good racing yesterday, not too much rough stuff. Motorbase must be regretting not building and NGTC car for this year, the Focus is past it's best and even then, it wasn't a very good car in the first place. They must be sick of rebuilding Griffin's car constantly as well. The equivalency seems right to me. The Hondas are excellent in the bends, but on the straights they get pegged back by cars that may not have the best cornering speed. Loved watching Collard, Foster and Onslow-Cole throwing the BMWs around their best track, such good traction out of the bends and Rob Austin in the Audi too. Lots of retrospective action taken for incidents at Oulton: http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=7806

I was on the island mid track for the first two races and got the feeling that a number of people around me were only there for the crashes. We'd moved position for the last race and seeing the focus on fire from the other side of the track was scary.

croft weekend from the perspective of a foot soldier in the orange army
friday, 4 hour drive in pouring rain finds campsite a quagmire, pitched tent and looked for facilities, apart from a portaloo that was it, howling wind and no bothy, ended up cooking dinner in scruitineering bay as only place with shelter for stove, got evicted by circuit manager. fellow marshal allows us to sit in his caravan awning, howling wind all night plus 2 generators going 20 feet from pillow. not much sleep. no running water in toilets so wash hands with wet wipes
saturday, windy as hell so no chance of a decent breakfast, able to get a bacon butty at over £3 so some hot food but ripping off marshals??? on post 4 with a good mate, decent lunch paid for by TOCA voucher for burger and chips, wind still bad. few incidents. weather dry but still windy. mate went to chippy so decent meal. wind dies away overnight but still wet and generators still blasting away, too tired to slept okay, still no running water so washed hands again with wet wipe
sunday, fester for 3 hours doing nothing thanks to stupid curfews, managed a paddock stroll and free coffee thanks to Dunlop, quiet day on my post but rest busy. made mistake of packing tent away wet and it stays dry all day grrr. made escape at 7pm and amazingly security lets us straight out but heading south when i wanted to go north, got onto a1 at catterick and headed for A66, decides to push on until I am grade A shattered, made it to annandale for a break, managed to wash hands with running water for 1st time since friday, heads north towards A71, tiredness kicking in bigtime so pulls off in darvel for a break, 20 miles to go, after a glug of irn bru and cigarette pushed on home, Iron Maiden at high volume and window open, gets home, brew and doss
life of a marshal, great fun eh. will never marshal at croft again, the facilities dont exist, dont want much, cold running water for something resembling a wash would be nice.

People moan about msv and palmer but they do provide good camping facilities and a wider range of food choices.

Just a wee point thanks for being one of the few drivers (apart from the race winner) who actually acknowledges the crowd / marshals.

Just watched race two as I missed it earlier. Twice that idiot got the two Audi's confused and had me believe that Austin had caught Jordan for third, and then later that Austin had caught Neal for second. They seriously need to get rid.

I wish we could have the circuit commentary online again. But they'd never do that incase it impacted TV viewing figures, whether they could find a sponsor for it or not, which is supposed to be why it disappeared, a lack of cash.

Charging Adult prices for over 12s will go a good way towards paying for those

At least nobody's accused the marshals of pulling the front of a car off with their bare hands this weekend .........................................yet!! I really feel for you guys in your tents - tbh its why I always marshal within striking distance of home if I can (or find a cheap hotel), I'm too old and miserable to add wet and smelly to the list. Kim p.s. Note to organisers - couldn't the scrutineering bay or somesuch be opened to allow those affected to at least stay dry in what were obviously pretty extreme conditions?

More quality racing this weekend Made the 4 hour trip from MK, lovely sun on Sunday and plenty of action. We managed to get into the AmD pit while The Wookie was signing autographs on the morning and had a bit of a chat with Sean Hollamby about the race to come. Got to perv on the Golf a bit too, it's a fab bit of kit. We were rooting for Ollie the whole way round Super driving, robbed of a proper result. Got to echo the comments above, it's great when the drivers acknowledge the fans and track staff. Plato was ace flashing the headlights all the way round at the end of third race, and the applause always rose when the Golf came by with a mad wave and the door wide open

The organisers wouldn't even let me weigh the race car in the bay to make sure it was legel when we were told to go up!!! Doubt they would do that. Don't work malc it was 15 over
