If there was an Olympic event for moaning we would have won gold , silver and bronze. It rained a lot, it was a pain inthe backside for many, including the organisers- let's just get over it eh ?

Were you at the event or are you one of the many armchair fans that have pepped up try to put down a description of our experience to moaning? I think all the people who went have said overall it was a brilliant weekend.
I do wonder if the tables were turned and you and your friends spent £2000 on a weekend break and you didn't have any hot water or washing facilities while camped in a mud bath, you'd have a little grumble, or would keep quiet in case someone accused you of being a moaning Jesse?
I'm still going again next year, it's not put me or my friends off at all, we'd just like to see a bit better organisation.

Piglet said: I don't agree, I was there from Thursday onwards and given what has been had in other areas of the country and the rain I've seen at other race meetings at Silversone and other places, I don't think it was extreme.
The problem is that the water table is so high, but that was entirely predictable given the last couple of months. I was in the same campsite as you and indeed from Thursday afternoon. Yes, the water table was high, but the force of the rainfall was extreme...as bad as I have seen at Brands and Lydden before....in contrast, where I live had a shower...

I wasn't there- as I grew rather bored of the fact that GPs became ever more expensive and offered ever less to watch. But I camped in a quagmire in 75, was eaten alive by bugs in 83 , was snowed on in 73 and was Mansell mania'd in 92 so I have sort of done my time at Silverstone and will be there next week in fact.
