You can voice your opinions here, and stick the boot into Sky if you like!

Done.

I still remain loyal to the BBC for a number of reasons - namely Eddie Jordan, David Coulthard & Jake Humprey (Humphries?) - plus the general quality of the coverage which I believe is second to none.

Added to that can you honestly imagine any of the Sky F1 team being daft enough to be strapped to the wings of those bi-planes at the start of Sundays broadcast?

No you can't & that is why the BBC coverage remains at the top of the pile, IMO, & any attempts by the BBC to dump the remaining races onto Sky must be resisted.

I for one don't want to watch the Sky F1 coverage at all. So I don't.

McNish annoys me immensely, Thomson also irritates, Brundle seems to have lost his enthusiasm & as for that touch screen analytical bks.......

Aaarrrrrghhhhh. I hate it. Too much much flannel & gap filling for my liking.

I just want to watch straight forward sensible coverage of qualifying & the race (BBC) & not an over technical, over bearing programme (Sky).

I also enjoy the humour provided by a certain Mr E Jordan & the banter between the three of them, not to mention the fact that I get the impression that the teams just have a little bit more time for the BBC than they do for Sky. I might be wrong - however I don't think I am!

Filled in 100% truthfully. Won't please the $ky fanboys though smile

On the BBC I watch all the programming on a race weekend, but when it is a $ky $ports exclusive race, I only turn on a few minutes before the session, and straight off after they stop showing the FOM feed. Can't stand the typically crap $ky $ports production, and Simon really gets on my nerves, just like all of the $ky $ports suits and tarts, their egos are huge.

But a lot of us won't have to put up with him next year, when they make you have to get the full $ky $ports package to be able to get $ky $ports F1.

Why remain loyal to the BBC ? They sold F1 coverage down the river in a big rush and were incredibly arrogant about it when there was an outcry from fans. They deserve nothing.

From what I've seen of coverage this year they are trying to turn it in to a "top gear" style of program. Arseing about, mickey taking, some idiot wittering on about some irrelevancy or other and a smug git gurning in to the camera. If I want to watch arseing about its very easy to find elsewhere, I want to see racing, features, interviews etc.

Sky all the way, its not perfect but I think they are improving with every race and are listening to fans and making changes based on feedback.

Apart from the idiot presenting sky (Simon?) - the programming is top notch imho. I've watched one race on the bbc since, and cant stand the new commentator (ben edwards?) so went back to Sky.

Done it.

I quite like the Sky coverage, and haven't even seen any BBC coverage this year. The only thing I would say wrong with Sky, is that it's not necessary to have a 2 hour build up for a GP - there's just a bit too much chatter.

Maybe loyal is the wrong word to use. I just prefer the BBC coverage - Sky is too geeky for me & I don't like the tetchy bits as I find them, & McNish, condescending.

I agree that the beeb dumped on the fans however I think that they are doing a great job.

It's a purely personal choice I think when it comes to F1. I just don't like the Sky coverage.

I don't have sky myself but have watched a few races over at a mates. I certainly prefer the BBC coverage over Sky. I can't specifically say what I don't like about it, it just feels a bit off.

However I am aware that they only got the coverage to it due to the Beebs actions, and I have been considering getting sky for next years races (not the only reason but its a bonus to have it), but would still watch the BBC live coverage when available.

I was thinking this weekend that the BBC coverage was turning more Top Gearish, and to be honest its great for it. The reality is the dedicated fan base who want pure F1 is very small and they have probably shelled out and gone to Sky. Therefore the BBC are aiming to enertain and show the race and it works really well.

Personally I'd consider myself a fan but not enough of one to justify spending £360 to watch half the races, and therefore I dont have Sky. However I have really liked the BBC coverage this year even the highlights. Suspect my wifes liked it as well as I have spent less time sitting in front of the telly!

Yes Sky F1 offers a lot of additional content but I just dont have the time to watch it, so its no contest for me.

I watch the BBC coverage & record the Sky coverage which I subsequently watched after the event. Should have clarified that.

Quite sad to think people enjoy the coverage being dumbed down :|

Personally I think its pretty sad its ending up that way. I didn't watch half the forums last year because they were more interesting in arguing, taking the mickey out of EJ or generally sodding about. Maybe they can just fill a Sunday afternoon with that and not bother with all this silly racing stuff. Least they wont have to pay Bernie then.

I got sky this year specifically for the F1 coverage, and I quite like the techie stuff - I just think sky are trying too hard - they certainly don't have the visual design slickness of the BBC.

Sky need a new anchor - Lazenby is a tt , and it's painfully obvious that Brundle et al cannot stand him (Brundle in particular seems to spend very little time on air after the race and looks uncomfortable with him).

Georgie just looks generally vacant and obviously doesn't have much of a clue - although she was better on screen with Davidson before his crash - hope he can come back.

The paddock does seem to have more time for the BBC (Vettel in particular has a soft spot for Lee Mckenzie) - but that's no surprise given the prestige and respect the BBC commands in every area of broadcasting around the world.

I suspect sky will have a big revamp over the winter and make some fairly significant changes and the 2013 coverage will be a lot better.

ps - survey done.

Sky F1 is just another repeats channel, which is what Sky do best.

The BBC don`t need to fill a channel with endless repeats of old motor racing legends, and just concentrate on providing the best live F1 coverage.

BBC has the best F1 coverage.

Agree with this. It's a shame Sky didn't get Jake, EJ and DC aswell as Brundle, but I do like them having Hill and Herbert there as pundits. They just need to get rid of Lazenby to be honest, give Ted Kravitz a chance instead, I'm not a huge fan of his but I think he could do a good job.

The Sky and BBC coverage have been good, I just can't see why the BBC chose to sell out and use the money to pay for st like The Voice when the F1 attracts more viewers than pretty much anything else they show.

Except for all of the times when they do exactly that with channel 301. wink

I don't have sky so I don't know what the tech sections are about, however I can't get excited about aerodynamics and the people who do probably already know everything Sky are going to cover.
