Evil Knievil would have kicked all of your pussy asses. On your first point: a TF day is not motorsport. There is no sport involved. On your second point: grow up. Go buy a Dictionary as it appears grammar outwits you! Look up wailing fish-wife whilst your at it! So what is your very own gramatical take on kicking a ball about a park if it is not football? Why be such an immature douchebag? Toolish pedantry is a foul trait in any man and besides, the facts are in front of us all from the off. Facts like it matters not a jot if you believe it or not, dumping a bike at 130mph is gonna be felt. What do you think happens if you bump into the Armco at 130mph,,, It will make a scuffing noise and mark up your leathers? Toolish pedantry?....bejaysus theres a t shirt design there if I ever saw one !

Well said Dale, using your position here and with the people you know there, a few good changes and you could make a real difference, that really would be the best thing possible that you or anybody could do for those who are no longer with us.

Why dont a load of you wealthy lot buy the ring together, and rather than having some money grabbing company run the place the petrolheads can. we could all invest and have a true say.

Not sure how many of us on here, but say 200,000 , possible if we all chip in an equal amount. What say you Garlick?

Richair said: The biggest shock for me was the fact you turn up, pay some money and on you go! Having done a few UK trackdays, the lack of disclaimer forms, rules, guidance, emergency proceedures etc. was a bit of a shock to me. Part of me found this realaxed approach quite refreshing given the culture of the UK, however I firmly believe that at least some guidance and rules would improve safety and no doubt save lives.
The very fact that a nutter can turn up in a clapped out deathtrap, or worse a weathy nutter in a serious bit of kit and do as many laps as they like, how they like worries me somewhat. That just about sums up the problem. There is a massive board right next to the ticket office with rules/guidelines all over it in at least two different languages. Quite how you managed to negotiate the track when you did not see that I will never know. Clearly sit down classes are needed for some. It's not rocket science! Pip

Just getting back from a weekend of TF and the VLN race and have been chatting about the safety/death problem at the ring with a few people. The universal feeling is that bikes and cars don't mix, and we saw a coupe of bike and car aftermaths earlier today. Solve this and you solve part of the problem, but separate sessions are a no-no for nurburgring GmbH who don't want to lose revenue. So one of my mates suggested letting the bikes queue up and when there are lets say 20 or whatever number, they delay the car queue so the bikes can have a clean lap and the cars don't find them all over the place and hard to overtake safely because of the different lines etc. Can someone tell me what is wrong with this straightforward and convincing idea that no-one has thought to introduce? Dale? Someone?

There may only be 3 bikers on a given day so to get all of them there at the same time and riding at a similar pace may prove a problem. You would still need to send a sweeper out to clear the track for them first anyway or there is no point.
I have spent years going to the Ring and have never seen any car to bike accidents, are they a regular thing that I have some how missed? Simply separating cars and bikes will not solve the fluid/ debris dropping issue. Lets not forget it is not only bikers that have accidents due to stuff on the track so something needs to be done to help the safety of everyone not just the bikers.
The only way to make the place safe is to put a 20mph speed limit on it but then nobody would turn up.
We all go there to drive quickly and just doing this provides enough hazards. I have come over the crest at Eschbach completely blind to the fact there was an S2000 parked sideways on the exit, luckily I managed to get round it. We all know it carries some significant risk but trying to minimise other risks is not a bad thing.
I like the idea brought up about different price brackets for recovery.
eg A- engine failure or fluid loss - £20 B- mild wang into barrier - £50-100 C- car on roof - £200
