HBGT will be pleased to know I am going to brush up on all those successful Italian F1 drivers that are still alive so I know which idiot is doing the interview this time around

No, what BVV is saying is that they should play it twice, or if that's against the protocol then they should play the second verse

Loris Kessel and Richard Robarts will do. Mention them in passing in your Monza posts and even some of the old fart brigade (of which sadly I am one ) might scratch their heads a bit. Unless they are even bigger anoraks than me ...

I count 3 start crashes, 2 were not his fault. Just for you, these are all his first lap incidents this year.... 1. Australia Turn 13 with Maldonado. Grosjean snapped steering arm, retired. 2. Malaysia Turn 4 with Schumacher. Retired a few laps after. 3. Spain Turn 3 with Perez. Perez got a puncture. 4. Monaco just off the start. You remember that one. 5. Silverstone with Di Resta. Di Resta spun and got a puncture, Grosjean needed a new front wing. 6. Germany with a Williams (not sure which one). Grosjean got a puncture. 7. Spa.... I haven't said which were his fault or not, you can make your own mind up about that. I thought it was first corner crashes! Thanks for the list though. Fair enough mate, still think hes rather good, and rather clean. I know his crash at Spa was rather poor show, but the other incidents fro my (admittedly rather poor memory) were either racing incidents or the other cars fault. But until I get sky and start recording races for further research I will have to start taking notes...

It will probably be Stirling Moss.

But until I get sky and start recording races for further research I will have to start taking notes... Coulthard made a very good point on Sunday about it. In his last season he was involved in an awful lot of incidents. None of them were his fault, but when he sat down and looked at it, the only thing they all had in common was him. He realised that he must be doing something wrong to be DNFing so consistently, and it was one of the things that pushed him into retirement.

I've just dug out an old Motorsport from Jan' 2004 where they rated the 20 greatest 'sportscar heros', Ickx was No.1, ahead of Bell, Moss, Stuck and others. The Duke video 'In car 956' shows one of Bell's laps at the 'Ring, about half way around, Ickx passes him and pretty much disappears. http://www.dukevideo.com/Cars/DVD/In-Car/IN-CAR-95...It's a good video.
