But I did feel that his death did elevate him to a level he didn't quite merit. Why ? He often tried too hard- great to watch but not the mark of a truly great driver. In his era I rated Piquet and Lauda higher. And yes of course GV is better than PM will ever be- but they do have over exuberance in common. By the way I dont need the link thanks-I'm old enough to have followed GV's career from F Atlantic days and was lucky enough to watch his GP debut in 77. Nigel Roebuck - and others- would disagree with me massively but thank God we don't always agree on everything eh ? Fair enough. I always thought GV always HAD to try hard because, apart from '79, he was always in a duff car. And of course in '79 he eventually played the team game. The key difference, apart from talent, between GV and PM is GV clearly had respect for other drivers and had respect from other drivers.

Yeah, but it wouldn't happen would it? Mclaren don't need to take pay drivers. I'd say theres a 50:50 chance right now Seriously. If this guy learns from his mistakes and builds up to having fairly consistent higher points finishes in a Williams (!) and while destroying Mr Senna....whos knows Yes it is a facking huge 'IF', but it may happen.....

David Richards believed in Colin McRae, I seem to remember him saying something along the line of its easier to slow someone down than make someone faster or words to that effect. Soon after he became world champion.
Pastor I find hard to warm to but the lad is quick he has a talent for going quickly. His race craft will improve and when it does he could have a bright future indeed.
