Hello Steve,
Did you get your windscreen wiper problem solved? When I got my car, it still had the original wiper setup the car raced with and Colin Blower had moved the off-side wiper box over a few inches to towards the middle. I couldn't understand why, so returned it to the position where the indent is in the windscreen scuttle. When I operated the wipers for the first time, the off-side wiper swept right off the windscreen as the angle of sweep was too large. In the end, Adrian Venn rebuilt my motor and changed the internals to give me the 100 or 110 degree (I can't remember) sweep required, as well as fitting the parking switch. I got my calculations slightly wrong, as the wiper still just fell off the end of the screen. In the end, I fitted a Triumph Stag pantograph wiper to the drivers side to correct the problem, but I'm still not happy with the result.
Moral or the story, consider carefully where you mount the off-side box and work out what angle of sweep you need. As for the motor, Adrian Venn can probably help, but I have vague recollections it was the same one used on the old FX4 taxis (but I'm always happy to be corrected). It's similar to the one used on an original Mini, but is a more powerful version and I wouldn't advise using a Mini unit.

Hope this helps..... Rich
Hi Rich,
Firstly thanks for replying!
Adrian and me got the original single motor working, but one speed no park is not good,
Thought a single wedge style one would do the trick,
Andy Tank has found one and is posting it to me today,
Think what you say is invaluable and will fettle it to fit ( hopefully) this one is two speed and parks single arm, I am out on the High Peaks run in the Cerbera today if it rains I rarely use wipers, rainex does the trick over 30 mph for me....so this exercise is mostly for the MOT!
All the gauges and 99% of them are wired and work, battery cables and relays for ignition and start up work, getting ever closer....even started to look for seats!

Hi,
Wiper motor now sorted, the one Andy T sent me worked but it parked on the wrong side of the screen, spoke with Adrian he talked me through how you can take it apart and reverse direction, did this mounted it using a combination of methods!
But works brilliantly, two speed parks correctly, I used an arm and blade off a Cerbera with the washer tube on it all works well blade is exactly the correct height too, that's been done for a couple of weeks, still got about 8 wires to sort out what they do on the ecu.....real pita this,
But will get there....

Looking at brakes too....mine runs the later solid rear disc....caliper had offset piston to compensate thinner disc,,,,these calipers have same number as the ones on my Cerbera, bought new pads, but they don't fit as they are too small for goodness sake!

Question which pads fit the rears brakes on a solid rota set up?
Please;)

bookmarked - epic thread.. smile just enjoyed a binge viewing smile
Thank you,
It's been a long journey, but nearei the end than the beginning!
This whole project hasn't been like trying to rebuild a car restoration wise, it's about creating something never existed, doing it out of your own garage and trying to anticipate what's needed without a plan, and not handing it over to someone to do it for us (George my son and me)
The dash has been sat on the kitchen table for a couple of months, it's trimmed in Marting black leather with red stitching in line with the rest of the car)
I have fitted gauges all wired up and can just plug into the car loom..water
Roof connections,,
..BUT needed to sort wiper motor and wash wipe this motor came from Andy Tank a wedge single arm, it works really well in fact better than the ones on my Cerbera and Chimaeras!
Plus the loom and ECU wiring ( which is nearly there) I have main relay working along with fuel relay working but am getting no power down at the fuel pump end, have checked the wiring that I put in its fine, but no feed out of the relay?
Have changed relays, spent a couple of hours sat pm scratching my head then left it, spoke with Jason at power when I was over there earlier, perhaps the ECU doesn't have a chip in there, so that's the next thing....
So sort this, pick the petrol tank from Radtec, fuel lines are in, need to mount fuel pump and filter, we will mount this on a plate behind the cone diff, I have two wires that have been cut from the loom behind the plenum and bulkhead, need establish what they do, put the plenum and water pipes back on work out where to mount the AFM ( got not inner wings so need to sort these) probably mount AFM on there, using a Chimaera K&N air filter mounted in the passenger side oil cooler area (only going to run one oil cooler as it is a road car, that's in on the drivers side.
But whilst I am head scratching over the stuff I don't understand I can do things like get the horns sourced and working, gone for Fiamm high and low tones nothing to chavvy...
Number plates on.....stuff like that I want to get this finished now been toooo long, want to get this car mot'd and down to asda for the monthly shopbiggrin
That said it will have to Waitrose as limited storage in the back....and can't afford their prices!

Hi,
Still progressing this car,
V.frustrated over 14cux ecu wiring, trying to get power to fuel pump,
Spent at least 20 odd hours trying to the relays putting power out to the pump,
Bothe relays 1. Ecu relay fine, 2. Fuel pump relay getting power nothing out to fuel pump though?
Lost too much time on this so gone back to cosmetics and braking ....
Lights sorted, just cut the lens covers (after borrowing Rob Pacs spares off his road legal project) probably going for no black boarder on the lens covers and bonding rivnuts 6mm cap head fixings, had to cut away a fair part of the chrome surround and headlight rim away underneath to lower them below the Perspex covers, one slip and the paint job is screwed so not pleasant on your own with this part...
Also put door hinges in and door handles, keeper and mechanism and door locks dropped off with Adrian Venn yesterday....
Just need to work out door innards .....got a couple of ideas...
Petrol tank going back to Radtec as my chimaera VDO sender doesn't match the smiths flange fitted.....
Seats now decided upon Cobra Manaco Sports, black vinyl (repels water) red stitching with challellenge logo on headrests (instead of cobra),
Just need to sell some stuff to fund them!
Do need to sort image upload......
Steve.G.
Thanks for the interest!

Hi,
This project is still going forward, fitting petrol tank and locating filter and fuel pump at the moment ....

We are ordering a pair of seats tomorrow - then we can position the pedal box and sort the brakes and clutch ....going for Cobra Monaco Pro's - black vinyl red stitching, using vinyl as opposed to cloth as if they get wet should dry quicker...(I have no roof at the mo)
I want to get them embroidered with the "Tuscan Challenge" logo in the headrests ....
I need a PDF for this, have spoken with Jon (online design) he doesn't have one, neither does Graham Walden ....
Anyone have a copy I could use?
Thanks in advance ....
Steve. G.

Hi,
Got another problem want to get the "TVR Tuscan Challenge" logo embroidered in the back of the seats,
Cobra have said that they can't do this without written permission on the logo owner ....who is this?
TVR?
JR?
TVRCC?

Does anyone know?

Streve.G.

P.S. I have just got back from the NEC setting up the TVRCC stand, if anyone wants to come along and say hello I will be there throughout....be aware I will get my mobile out and make you glaze over with images of what this build has been!!!
I will make sure your have a cuppa and slice of cake ....
