Gutted for you that it's getting to this point. Been cheering you along in the little Golf at all the races this year except a couple and so have also seen a fair few cars shoved off by the likes of Neate and Chris James. Regardless of the money and numbers there's going to be a serious accident soon. On Sunday Neate was involved with Jordan, you and someone else who might have been Wrathall across all three races? How has he not been banned yet?

Chris James going for a spin on the second lap of race 1 was fairly special as well. The trouble with messing around with the boost etc is it can put fools like him and Neate in the middle of the pack on the starting grid where they can do maximum damage when the inevitably bin it.

Regarding the Plato/Neal thing it was very clear from where I was sitting that the all the Hondas were WELL off the pace. Getting a bit boring now but Gow has what he wants - controversy and people talking about it. Shame for the people who actually want to watch racing but heartbreaking for the teams that have spent everything they have nailing a car together for it to get smashed to bits by a halfwit or mullered on the straights.
Excellent question. Considering the incidents I've got points for this year one would have expected him to have been banned five times over. Apparently he's been calling my team boss Shaun Hollamby an idiot on twitter for criticising him which, regardless of the cause of that particular incident, is frankly outrageous considering his driving and conduct over the course of the day and indeed the season so far. He might have worked for his money but he appears to be psychologically unfit to be piloting a vehicle of any description, let alone a racing car.

The most depressing aspect of the whole weekend was that while we were struggling for pace and straight line speed I had a couple of good dices with Tony Hughes. We gave eachother space and respect and didn't make contact at all, despite the difference in braking points, cornering speed and straight line grunt. Some of those whose budget outweighs their talent would do well to look backwards rather than forwards for examples of racecraft.

If it's any consolation it appears the other driver that tangled with Andy was Will Bratt who was slightly less diplomatic than Shaun:

Will Brattþ@WBrattRacing

Frustrating weekend. Neate's an idiot. Car not quick enough, especially in a straight line r3. Want to set the record straight next race

hehe

Good luck for Brands. We'll be there cheering you on as ever.

Straight away on the radio virtually as it happened. Basically I've got no chance, it's too late to appeal the decision and it would be a waste of money anyway, as by the time he gets banned it'll be the end of the season and he'll still get a clean slate next year.

Andy Neate ‏@AndyNeate @AmDessex I had a puncture you idiot I couldnt steer!

Andy Neate ‏@AndyNeate @AmDessex and if you have something to say at least have to balls to tweet it to me!

Andy Neate ‏@AndyNeate @Re1axin_Mood @amdessex You would think their driver may have noticed I was crawling in 1st gear that I had a issue with the car.

Urgh what an attitude. Money can't buy class. It seems Andrew Jordan's dad was right.

I think despite the Jesus complex of some of Platos disciples (no one is trying to crucify him, just making some comments on his way he goes about business) we can i seems all agree that this boost thing is spoiling BTCC.

More Turbo boost can make up for a cars and drivers failings to easily.
Last year was a joke because people who had spent big to get a turbo were pegged back so they were equal to a N/A car, i understand the issues that would bring.
But this year if Mats car is Turbo and Platos car is turbo and Jacksons car is turbo...why the hell do they not all have same boost?
Would the race yesterday not of been better were it Jackson / Plato / Sheddon / Neal and the BMW'S all scrapping at the front with the others nipping at their heals?
I feel we were robbed by Alan Gow yesterday with him playing God and trying to manufacture the big final at BH....
As a series its not about the best driver, never can just be that, its about best car / package / team / and then driver...All that matters...but right now its just "who has most boost advantage"

Thats rubbish. The drivers know it is....

Its not about allowing either the Hondas to romp away or Plato, for me its about a balance which frankly after silverstone isnt working....

Firstly why didn't he get the hell out of everyone's way if he was crawling (which he wasn't I might add as I wasn't exactly hanging about to get around the outside of him), and secondly if he was crawling in first gear, why did he put his foot in after he hit me????

I don't think it was shown on TV so I didn't see it, but certainly the damage to your car doesn't match up to someone "crawling along"

I've always been pretty indifferent to him but it seems now I have a reason to dislike both MG drivers.

So much win in those:

"Andy Neate ‏@AndyNeate @Re1axin_Mood @amdessex You would think their driver may have noticed I was crawling in 1st gear that I had a issue with the car."

Re tweet to him.."you always look like your crawling in first gear Andy, the issue with the car is the driver!"

I love the fact that you have balls in Neates eyes if you tweet abuse! thats not balls!!!

He's out of his depth and in the wrong form of Motorsport..... theres a worry if a driver can qualify well but in the race just trips over everyone, its basically saying to me that the car is much much better than Neate is, come race day its different skill set than just sitting in a fast car going round empty track....and Andy sadly is found wanting everytime...maybe suggest Time Attack?

Why do you need balls to press a few keys on a keyboard or phone, this bloke is an idiot as well as useless driver, ever thought about saying stuff it and lumping him.

Err. Where would that be recently? I seems it is constantly 'let's slag off Plato'. Don't recall reading any posts in the last few hours where anyone has been slagged off as much as Plato.

I know Plato is no angel & doesn't exactly help his own cause however it is consistent sniping at Plato & it is, IMO, getting tiresome.

IMO anyway!

Still a child? Shows just how little you know MGJ.

Not sure what your point is as your ramblings don't always make sense. Quite obvious you are no fan of JP so I guess the equal stupidity of the lanky Hondadriver is more your style.

I have already said that I not JP's biggest fan & have also said I didn't see the third race today - or the first for that matter.

Just for the record - I am old enough to remember the BTCC in its glory days & I can well recall the Cleland, Soper, Harvey battles not to mention many years of racing before that.

Today's 'battles' are child's play compared to what went on between the Vauxhalls, BMW's & Toyota's all those years ago......

Oh yeah - one other thing. I was around when the Rover V8's etc were racing as my team managed to beat a certain works supported team to the British Saloon Car Championship two years on the trot.

Try as they did, by fair means or foul, they couldn't beat us to the title. Only time they managed to beat us 'fair & square' was when we ran the same cars as they did...

Turned out that their cars were 'different' to ours (details of which I will not under any circumstances go into on here) hence we got beaten.

So yes I was around in the halcyon days of Saloon Car racing.
Please lighten up fatboy. A simple yes or no would suffice rather than all those ramblings ... wink
Yes or no to what particular rambling from you? It seems that you can dish out the flak but you can't take it. You raised some points, I replied yet you still get stroppy.

Maybe you need to lighten up.

If we'd ended up parked in the gravel trap after that it probably would have happened.

This is the same man who called Shaun out of the truck at Donington, while I was sat next to him, after someone made contact with him and he thought it was me so he could remonstrate. I was two places back from him. He's quite happy to have a go at nice guy Shaun but he quite obviously doesn't want to deal with a large, angry Wookie.

Ironically he'd also punted me out of the way a few laps before.

Do you think it could be because of his accident? Maybe every time he gets a nudge it's too much of a reminder?

Obviously not this weekend as Neal wasn't on the track long enough to wind up the haters. wink

Plato appears to be some sort of PH god...

IMO! tongue out

Well surely getting in a race car would do that alone. What it will be is the simple fact that Neate isn't a good race car driver, now what's worse this season is that the car is better than him so a few good quali's has given him some confidence that's not able to be matched by his talent, hence tripping up over others. Add to that the fact that MG is boosted more than Jordans Civic and Andy Neate found himself going much faster than a much more skilled driver in Jordan and he just couldn't cope with it and he crashed into Jordan...the man is out of control and looks dangerous in a BTCC car.

Football gets enough bad press these days but imagine if teams took on players cause they paid money to play? So upfront you have a bloke who cant score in a brothel lumbering around like a headless chicken and you couldn't replace him or sack him cause the sport was in a situation where he paid to play and if he went the sport would die through lack of finance......it is worrying and one that appears to be unique to motorsport only, i may be wrong on that, but what other sport allows this?
I will add there is a big difference between a young driver would gains funding due to people spotting talent and nurturing it and helping fund a career to a bloke who makes millions then decides he wants to be a BTCC driver....
And also in Chris James defence at least hes a team owner which clearly is good enough to wina 2 races under Newsham, if nothing else Chris can say he is a good team owner...whats Andy Neate?
