Read the rules buddy, think you will find that 1 wheel on the white line is perfectly within the regs.
This is the problem, so many of you on here talk utter nonsense. You believe you are experts from an armchair.

Cheers JP

Nope, Turbo boost is about torque not top speed, so you can have great top speed but rubbish torque and on a track ultimately its a balance. The speed traps mean very little Jason as you will well know, the boost means that you came out of the corners quicker than any other car on that track.
You stated race 3 before the off that you had same boost as the Hondas which was a lie, you actually had a little moan as if you and Jackson didnt have the most boosted cars on track, which you did.

Shellby was once quoted as saying "Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races".

In a sport where they claim to have equalisation no car should come from nearly last place to 1st with that ease, clearly thats not equalisation at work, its gone wrong, you benefited from it fair play, but as a fan i feel we were robbed of a good battle between you and the Hondas.

And your snipe at Arron at his 3rd place was pathetic for a Director of the BRDC.

Just what were you doing here Jason? Did you mean to take Herbert out of the race, or was it an accident? either way by your rules you should lose your race licence...

I actually met the guy many moons ago well before he became mega-media and he's OK by me even if possessing a bit of a big ego ~ well bigger than mine anyway.

I think the mindset of many of those in the current BTCC line up makes their on-screen persona much less likeable. Nasty even particularly that big mummy's boy geezer. For me, been that way since the days when Mansell participated briefly and spectacularly which prompted some comments about his BTCC skills from those riddled with envious professional green eyed monster stances. Something almost entirely absent in F1 driver circles or, if it is present, they keep it all off screen and that alone is admirable.

Fair play to Jason for coming on here I think it makes the debate more relevant that we have someone at the forefront of btcc willing to discuss on a forum, also you've got to have respect for someone who's brought a brand new car from nothing to being a serious championship contender.

I met JP once a few years ago when he was driving for Seat - went to a driving day at Prodrive. Was very funny & he scared the living crap out of the lucky few who got to be driven around the circuit by him.

I recall one bloke got out of the car very very green & he wasn't seen again all day!!!

Who Mat Jackson?

That MG is a Triple 8 car, like i say they are a bit damn good and can make a car go well....its not an MG thats rolled off the Chinese production line and and some flash alloys fitted and been lowered...its a full race car engineered by triple 8 hence why that Andy Neate fella can get anywhere near the top ten cause the car is that good.......i'd be shocked if it wasn't winning with Plato at the helm to be honest...

Indeed much like the treatment Plato gave Jonny Herbert at Silverstone all those years ago... proffessional green eyed monster is nail on head.

I pray for all NGTC cars to have equal boost for Brands and then we may get the race we all as fans deserve to see...top drivers and teams battling for honours.

One day they will probably name a corner after Jason Plato, he is a great driver.....one day they will name a gravel trap after Andy Neate....

Nope its not, clearly we aren't in the days where its hard to get yourself up and running with a brand new NGTC car and start competing / winning...hence the Focus and MG wining races.... not to take away the achievements but the name MG gives people an impression its a pile of st cause MG's are st..its a race car....not a crappy chinese rover..thats just the shell....

THAT WAS MY POINT...................ho hum.

Easier way to do that - as I have been saying for over 12 months. Get rid of the horrible, IMO, NGTC cars, get rid of the turbo's & bring in 5 litre normally aspirated V8's.

That way there can be no arguing, no bhing, no whinging etc. it would simply be down to whoever builds the better car.

It works in Aus - just watch the Bathurst 1000 from the weekend.......

I love motorsport. I love equality and letting skill levels denote finishing positions. I am a fan of four wheel racing and I attend as many events as I can/use my TV for mainly watching any kind of race.
However, I love a good spectacle. It was a damn sight more entertaining seeing Plato scythe through an entire field rather than watching Vettel lead a snake around a slim Japanese course. Elevated boost or not, it was still a huge amount of overtakes for one car within 12(?) laps. There is skill in overtaking, no matter what car you have. "Push to pass" is what BTCC should have as it's real name, it has always been that way and that is what that series is about, everyone does it. It adds to the character of the race.

ITV4 Sundays are a brilliant thing for me, let the drama continue.
XFactor is scripted for entertainment, look how many viewers/how much advertising revenue that gets.

I agree with your interpretation of the rules there Jason. But to me that 2nd photo shows you with all 4 wheels the wrong side of the line. So not your best argument really.

However that particular 1/2 inch probably made sod all difference to the positions after the corner. So if it's legal it because no advantage was gained despite you being over the line.
