Ridiculous that Team Honda have been so heavily penalised with lack of boost, compared with the rest of the field.
Neal down in 12th - Flash in 15th !
I guess that Gower was never going to not let it go down to the last round. Plato to take the champs lead and take it down to Brands

It could be suggested that Honda could well be sandbagging to get their own boost increase for the final round. I thought the boost levels were the same as Rockingham for everyone? The gap between MG and Honda in terms of straight line speeds were not as big as the qualifying times suggested at Rockingham.
Would be nice if we could go into a race weekend and be discussing something other than boost levels, driving standards and pay drivers.

The BTCC is a pantomime and ballast and success penalties are all part of it.Would be nice if we could go into a race weekend and be discussing something other than boost levels, driving standards and pay drivers.

Hondas were down on boost at Rockingham as well, it was only the conditions in the second and third races that helped them out. In fact Plato was somewhat unintentionally penalised by having more boost in the wet.

Agree with you on the 2nd statement it's getting boring now we all know the boost level arrangment, we know who pays for their ride and who doesn't and we know the driving standards are lets are questionable so why just repeat it over and over if you really feel unhappy then complain to alan gow on the main btcc forum about it or not watch.Would be nice if we could go into a race weekend and be discussing something other than boost levels, driving standards and pay drivers.

Back to quali going to be a close but would love to see matt jackson get a pole the focus is looking stronger and with high boost levels could be at an advantage.

Another pole for plato what a shocker for sheddan 20th place must have been a problem to be half a second slower than neal sets things up nicely for the race. Newsham showing strong pace as is welch too, nice to see the insgnia out and only 1 second covering 20 cars going to be a good close racing.

No surprise.. have a look at the speed trap data! Weight plus a lack of boost means no pace. There was no way that the final BTCC weekend wouldn't have the championship at stake. Dan Friel said:

It's not like Plato is fastest in a straight line either though is it! Look at it the other way, last year the Honda was fastest and platos Chevy one of the slowest. Shoe on the other foot and all that!37chevy said:

Shoe on the other foot and all that!Don't think they were but not 100% sure honda were always going to struggle here like mg struggeled at knockhill so swings and roundabouts and all that. Quali is a different thing to racing anything can happen and with the focuses higher straight line speed im going for a win for the focus.

Where is the speed trap data please? The boosts were not changed for this weekend were they?
Yes they were changed. It's not that Honda are getting any taken off them, they just aren't getting any of an increase, where every other engine on the grid got some form of increase.Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
