Well Sky has the full Quali and build up. the free practise, then the whole race. Whilst it is not quite as good as the BBC coverage as yet I watch it.

But that commentator? almost unbearable. Worse than Legard.
I cant put my finger on it... but he talks like a Sun article, all puns and misinformation and salasious tid bits...

Can't fault the Sky coverage really, I just wish they'd make it available to stream outside the UK as it is so much better than the ad laden Star Sports we get here.

Have sky so watch sky. Brundles a class act, the guy with him hasn't annoyed me too much yet which is the most you can hope for after some of the morons we've had to endure in recent years.

IMO all the pre/post race stuff is garnish and of lesser importance to me, but sky have more of it and also have brundles grid walk TM so strike 2. and they manage to keep everything on 1 freakin channel, clap clap clap.

Think the only time I've watched the beeb coverage was in a pub and evan with no sound and subtitles you could tell at least one one of the commentators was fking it up... do miss eddies shirts though.

Sky. Brundle, Davidson, Herbert, Hill - all pure racers and winners of some sort of another, other than Damon they've spent over half their lives racing and just can't get enough - these are the guys I want to see and hear from.
Topped off by Ted the ubergeek who gives us some good information.

BBC. DC "next year is my year", Jake "smug git", EJ.. well.. just EJ really.

They picked up Anderson somewhere along the line as an "expert", who hasn't been in the industry for 10 years? maybe more.

I haven't watched BBC this year after the BBC Forums turned in to a complete shambles last year - seemed to be more about Jake showing off and DC / EJ bickering whilst they wandered about aimlessly than actually telling us something.

Never really liked Edwards as a commentator and find it amusing that when Crofty was on the beeb he was the best bloke ever, now on Sky he's awful ?

Sky do some nifty graphics stuff - like the visualisation of the Alonso incident. Their features are better too.

Frankly given the arrogant way that the BBC handled the sharing deal and the subsequent outcry from fans they don't deserve any viewers.

Have I totally misunderstood Sky Go? Can I not watch the full race on demand?

Haven't watched the BBC's coverage for a few races but did today.

Ben does a good job
But the SKY team are hands down doing a better job now.
Lazenby is the only weak link in the production but I guess we have to have someone to moan at.

Crofty and Ant are my preferred commentary team and I always choose that audio option on the BBC. So enjoy their FP commentary. Brundle and Crofty don't work as well for some reason, but it's still a good pairing.

Sorry to the SKY haters - but the whole SKY F1 package ( they have the entire FOM output, driver and team conferences GP2, GP3 pratice, quali & races ) easily beats the BBC offering. It's shame it's not free to air and I think it's a backwards step, but that's what we have to deal with now.

I generally like the Sky comment and coverage but their voiceover segments are inane and terrible.. "Who will be champion..?" in some deep moody voice.. Err yeah exactly, that's why we're watching.

How are BSkyB shares doing at the moment?

Presumably if BskyB's share price drops, then that means the coverage is rubbish, or something?

Yes thats a good point- they seemed to have access to a lot more camera angles on some of the incidents than in the past (and present them well) - is this a general thing or something sky have pushed for?

Much better than the old "well he got done cos the fia have footage they can't be bothered to show you, so run along like good children."

I wish you guys could see the coverage we get here in North America on Speed. David Hobbs, Bob Varsha and Steve Machett are an awesome commentary combo. Very informative and knowledgable, plenty of dry and sarcastic comments to keep you chuckling and they know when to shut up and when to talk. No silly screaming either!

+1. Apart from Lazenby the Sky package is very good. Considering it is their first year it's a very polished performance. Don't even bothering watching the Beeb highlight's anymore.

I haven't bothered with the BBC all season, apart from the Forum for Silverstone.

I said on here where the Sky deal was announced that i was expecting the sort of rubbish they serve up for Indycar and i'm very happy that i was wrong.

I started watching the BBC for the build up and post-race analysis and SKY for the qualifying/race coverage, but now I stick with Sky.

Got to be sky for me too. I've watched a couple of races on BBC purely because it was on HD (haven't got sky HD) and while Ben Edwards is a good commentator DC just hasn't grown on me. Sky commentary / punditry team is better but Lazenby isn't cutting it as a presenter. They get a decent presenter in and it'll be brilliant.

The coverage on sky sports news on the other hand is woeful. Both of the SSN reporters attached to the F1 coverage appear to know fk all about anything vaguely motorsport related.
