"If you’ve seen us on the entry list for Britcar 1000kms and expect to see us there you will be disappointed. We never filed an entry. #strange"
The 1st entry list looked more like a copy over from the Brands entry list."If you’ve seen us on the entry list for Britcar 1000kms and expect to see us there you will be disappointed. We never filed an entry. #strange"
Went on Saturday to the Britcar meeting mainly for the PCGB races, which I really enjoyed once Tom had headed off into the distance. Good job, as there was no other racing to see! Only 3 sessions of warm up and qualifying for the 1000Km on Sunday, oh and lots of silence. I have never heard Silverstone so quiet!
I got my ticket through a PCGB driver, but, if I had paid £20 for it I would have felt robbed - not good enough Britcar.
I spoke to a couple of families there who had bought their tickets some months ago and felt very short changed also.

I think the fact that the four pages of topic contain almost no discussion on the race says a lot about how people feel about it.
Personally, I stopped attending a couple of years ago as the quantity of action in the event versus the costs to me as a punter no longer made sense. Shame, as the racing is always excellent and the access and friendliness was unparalleled.

I've been to all the Britcar 24h and shorter races at Silverstone since 2005. I book it off as holiday every year with a few friends and really look forward to it. This time round was a slight disapointment as you can guess. We stayed in the Snoozebox booked months ago this time which costs a fair bit. We've left thinking just seems a bit of a waste this time.
The support races really bulk up the weekend and have some of the best action. None of this bar the 3 Porsches races this year.
I want go again next year but things need to improve. I'm sure there are many series that would love to support this big event. More racing = more spectators that will enjoy themselves. The fact that the Britcar part would only be 6h instead of 24h really didn't bother us but the lack of other action was sad to see.
On a positive note the 6h race was great and really happy to see the higher classes supported well. Lets see this event bigger and better next year. Do your stuff Britcar guys!
