No; its boring
No; its become a procession with lead changes only courtesy of fluffed put-stops
No; I can't stand Suzi Perry (and I know a few things about her to justify my comment)
No; there are hardly any personalities in F1 now; what happened to the Sennas, Prosts, Hills and Hunts?
No; why watch cars that all look alike, driven by drivers who all look and sound alike when I could go and stand on the inner ring road in Mansfield and watch the 'boy-racers' circulate round and round
No; because I refuse to pay Sky to watch it live
Other than that, yes; I may watch the highlights / lowlights...
I wouldn't waste your time, it's obviously not for you.

Personally, I don't find it boring, I personally think in terms of on-track action we're enjoying a golden era. In fact it seems to me you stopped watching a few years ago and haven't come back.

One thing that did occur to me is why the BBC dont have a fixed time for highlights on BBC2 of say 8pm and make it their fixed motoring/motorsport slot. So on non f1 race weekends they could show highlights of other motorsport, Le Mans (series), BTCC, WRC etc or Top Gear.

Wouldnt that build better audience loyalty rather than the need to look at the programme schedult to find out when the race is shown?
THis is a good idea... an hour on sunday night to watch some cars, followed by some sort of david attenborough documentary works for me. A good sunday evening relaxing before work.

I always fall asleep if i lie down on the sofa to watch the F1, and through summer if it's nice outside I'd rather watch the highlights later on anyway.

This except replacing the suzi perry comment with:

No: It's getting about as realistic as wrestling.

Nope. I don't find it exciting enough. There's more action playing GT5.

Oh, and football is tedious.

As is Sky.

And reality television shows.

I'm going for a lay down.

I subscribed to sky sports (on virgin media) last year for the F1 coverage and then cancelled it again at the end of the season as I dont really care much for other sports except MMA which I get on ESPN and the odd boxing match which are always PPV anyway.

Last night I suscribed again as the F1 show and practice sessions were starting and Ive just got in from work to find virgin media have sent me a 'special offer' that if I sign up for sky sports again I will get the first three months at half price!!

Just gave them a call and it seems I cant take advantage of the offer now as ive already subscribed yeaterday.

OK I would only save 38 quid over three months but its obvious what they were doing sending it out three days before the F1 season starts again.

Bit annoyed with it all really as my standard monthly bill from virgin is now 95 which I feel is begining to take the piss.

Yes, looking forward to it. We already have Sky HD (poor aerial reception and no VirginMedia option) so get F1 HD included without needing to buy the Sports package.

I think the 'too tight' comment might be a neck extension too far.

I'd like to watch the F1, but there's no way I want to subsidise the rest of the drivel on Sky. The quality of their coverage is also awful.
I agree that comment was out of line.

After the Jimmy Savile cover up by the BBC for the past 40 years, with clear implications that Mark Thompson was complicit in the cover up also, I'm not sure the BBC are any better than Sky....and they force you to pay for the privilege of having a TV whether you choose to watch the BBC or not...not very fair or moral I would suggest!
^This - wonder how many people would whinge about Sky if they didn't have to pay a TV Tax, sorry, License?

I have to disagree there, there coverage is excellent and far more insightful than the BBC ever was.

The beauty of the Sports F1 channel is they can dedicate so much more time (to the disgust of the o/h) to every race weekend.

Already had my fix this morning for P1 and P2 live!
I concur. It think Sky, overall, have got it spot on. yes, Hill, Herbert and presenter bloke most defo not a patch on Jake, DC & EJ and form the least interesting element. but everything else is slickly done.
I think it is more what you get used too, but after watching a few races last year on Sky/Virgin (Virgin had free coverage for a few races) I am on the side of MrTickle and the BBC.

Don't have a Sky subscription and don't want to watch live F1 enough to get one, I'll simply avoid the result until I can watch the highlights on BBC. Their coverage has been better up to now anyway (have seen a couple of races on Sky and not enjoyed them nearly as much) - I really don't like how sky try to be so slick. Just present good content well - simple as that.

He asked and she said no.

Anyway, did someone here just say that they pay nigh on 100 nicker to watch TV? I mean 300 is bad and gets me into ten motocross weekends on my quad. BUT 1200 POUNDS??!?!?!

I know a few things about Suzi Perry ...and they are all good .... smile Top girl.

I will never pay for Sky, the Internet has it all if you know where to look.

Plus, the FREE live timing app from Formula1.com is excellent, you often spot what is going on before Brundle and Co mention it, colour coded, 3x split timing... even if you are watching it happily, it is well worth keeping this in view as well.

I'd love to know when those pics of Ms Perry were taken; last time I saw her she had a right little 'pot' (unless I want to be PC and suggest it was pmt time....?)
In answer to the "he asked her and age said no" I'd rather shag a mangey mongrel on the street...
And I wouldn't like to say what I know in an open forum; suffice to say I have no respect for women who hit ex-husbands with gagging orders as part of their divorce.
Of course, I'm not aiming this at anyone specific....

there is no basis for saying that the commentary of Sky's F1 coverage is awful, if that is what you mean. there is also no basis for saying that the commentary is dumbed down, as somebody above did.

the team are excellent, the content is superb, and the commentary is Martin Brundle and David Croft for christ's sake - short of gettng Murray and James Hunt back what more do you want?

think article lines people up for the tedious comments of "not arsed this year, it's boring, etc" - it's going to be another season of great coverage (although not everyone has i agree), great racing, lots of overtakng, and no guarantees who will win. what's not to like?

I'll bet going back through every era of the "good old days" there would have been people moaning and not recognising what a great spectacle we have in front of us (in the 70s "this DFV is too fast and everyone has to have it", late 60s "these wings look ridiculous", in the early 90s "too much tech"), etc. I'm quite happy saying RIGHT NOW F1 IS GREAT! smile

It's derivative, boring and crap.
Just watch Moto GP to learn what good close racing and excellent coverage is.

The BBC / Sky agreement stands for another 9 years, so if you're "terrestrial only" you won't miss a race, if you might not be able to watch them all live.
The BBC / Sky deal isn't for another 9 years - it runs until 2018.
