Hope you had a good day!

I did stages 2 and 7 and while the action was very good, the stoppages and gaps in the field were pretty boring tbh. Still at least the weather forecast was wrong and it wasnt too wet in the end smile

Shame for Monkey to retire on stage 6 with a stuck handbrake. The car looked great though!

The hour gap was annoying (hope no injuries). But the decent weather more than made up for it.

Good news from British Rally Forum..

"Tudur Rees the Nav was taken to hospital for checks due to having back and neck pains. He is now home a bit sore but OK.
Justin Fowler-Bishop the driver, is also a bit bruised and sore but is OK.

Many thanks to the emergency and rescue crews, first class job as usual, aslo the crews who stopped to help"

My video of the event. smile

With Paddon to do 7 rounds, starting in Italy!

I only expected his news to be more funding for rounds in a Fiesta!

Great news for Paddon, and great news for NZ. It seems that Hyundai NZ have backed him - a good move. After the disgrace that the best Rally in the WRC is left out, at least a NZ driver has an opportunity to shine.
NZ is producing some fine drivers, and with Brendon Hartley driving the new 919 Hybrid in the WEC, and Ritchie Stanaway in the GT Aston - it shows that talent will out; not what car market you come from.

yes

Not to mention Scott Dixon in Indycars, Mitch Evans is looking pretty sharp in GP2 as well, and Nick Cassidy will probably be one to watch in future going by what he's done so far. For a country of 4 million I like to think we punch well above our weight in motorsport. smile

Got a bit of catching up to do as I've been up at Greystokes today helping out on the MW Stages, but the live stage looked ok last night.

Not really sure about that, reception was so poor from helicopter and in-car - would have done nothing to reach out to a new audience. Hopefully tonight will be a lot better.

Ogier is in a class of his own, Latvala is also in a class of his own (2nd class). Great to see Elfyn right in the mix for class 3. Also good to see Hirvonen back to somewhere near the top on pace (just a pity about the electrical glitch)

Just caught up with day 1 and 2s highlights and Ogier is certainly one lucky boy! If that had been a Ford the suspension would have been smashed to many pieces!

Meeke was pretty unlucky so wouldnt get on his back about his day 1 mistake!

Brilliant from Elfyn, doing a very profesional, consistent job. Robert Kubica take note!! Is it just me already getting a bit tired of all the interviews after his multible crashes?

Kubica's turning into a bit of a joke IMO.
We'll see how he gets on now we're going back to Europe, but it hasn't been good so far..

Mature drive by Neuville and we'll see how Paddon gets on in Portugal. Can't see anybody touching the VWs mind.

I thought Kubica would use his brain more. He's massively inexperience - albeit, hugely talented, but having multiple offs every event isn't the way to go.
Somebody needs to have a serious word; reign the speed in, and actually finish the event. Young Elfyn is a prime example - most of these events are brand new to him - so he's ignoring the others and driving to his own pace. Wait until the final 3rd of the season - and we may see a bit more pace. Old head on young shoulders - with massive help from Malcolm, Gwyndaf and his co-driver Daniel Barritt.

Interesting first few rounds. The championship will be between Latvala & Ogier, but think it will be really interesting to see how everything else develops around them.

Shame Meeke didn't finish - but Citroen have 2 rapid drivers - as Meeke gets into events he knows he could be very interesting to watch. Wonder what odds you can get on him winning in Aus??

Kubica will get there - look at Mikkelsen - off again twice in the VW. Kubica on tarmac should be good, and if he follows last years trend then when he stops binning it and starts to finish he will be consistent and fast. He will get there - well I hope he does.

Evans is going really well - building up experience, should be good to see some true pace on events he knows. Really looking good.

One of the highlights for me was Hirv being back on the pace - properly on the pace. Really hope that's a sign a things to come and he's settled in the Fiesta - he's got his Mojo....clap

I missed most of the season last year and decided to not allow that to happen again

Havin caught up with te first 3 events it's been great watching.

Like others have said Evans is proving I have a wise head and very talented, looking forward to seeing his development.
