Well thank you so much ITV4. Imagine how overjoyed I feel after settling down in front of a recording of an hour of live cricket instead of the WRC. Bugger.

So today they have had the first meeting to discuss the 2017 WRC car regulations, trying to get it sorted as early as possible!

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/114036

Some people are suggesting FWD, but I think that would totally kill the sport! The cars need to be spectacular and capture the general publics imagination...all while being cheaper than the current £500,000 machines! Interesting times ahead!

It has always seemed a bit counterproductive to me the way the FIA say 'we need to cut costs' and then change the regulations on an almost annual basis, forcing the teams to spend more money designing a new car than it would have cost them to keep using/developing the previous one.

Agreed 100% that a Fwd-only formula would destroy most of their spectator interest.

Ogier doing a bit of tintop racing this weekend. see how he manages with others on a circuit and no one to call the notes wink

It's all a bit copycat tho isn't it? you know, as Seb Loeb has the 'been there done that' T-shirt biggrin

I have a feeling that Ogier will make the permament move to circuit racing earlier than Loeb did. A few more WRC Titles and he'll be off.

So the one guy - outside of the VW camp - who could probably match Ogier for pace is already out. Not his fault, such a shame Hirvonen has his mechanical issues!

Shame for Mikko as he has been driving better this year, but had some real bad luck with car issues. Main thing is the crew are Ok.

Hyundais making the most of their road position to be 1-2 last I checked.

Both Hyundai's out on SS5, Neuville with mechanical trouble and Hanninen rolled it! Meeke also out with engine trouble, looks like Volkswagen will walk this one aswell.

I do wonder how long it will last, but fair play to Prokop!

Gutted for Hyundai, it had almost started to well for them. Hanninen is a lucky boy, the car is wrecked and wiped out a fairly meaty tree! VW are doing a brilliant job, but everyone does seem to make it even easier for them!

Latvala leads!

Yes, the others just shoot themselves in the foot with accidents and mechanical failure. Still, looking forward to the highlights tonight as there was plenty of action today

So Ogier was told that Latvala had stopped with an over heating engine, but intact it had cooled by turning off the anti-lag, so he continued and still leads! Should be a fun lunch time service!

Kubica ripped a wheel off on SS12..

edit: while Latvala loses 2 minutes with a smashed wheel and brake issues, handing the win to Ogier.
