Love the stance of the cars on the Tarmac. Rain and tar make for the best viewing smile

Ogier leading from Latvala with Meeke third. Kubica binned it early on and damaged his clutch but was able to carry on for once.

Meeke had a spin in the morning, but that aside the first 2 VWs are just way too fast. Mikkelsen is close behind with a big battle with the remaining top 10.

Ogier off the road on SS6, but is moving again!

edit: And stopped again! On another road, off of the stage.

Just noticed how well Elfyn is doing compared to drivers that have been on the scene for a while!
Just hope this year is just a learning year for him and next season he starts getting results!

2 minute clip from Micheline/bestofrallylive - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bD9kQRD8dQ&fe...

I do love the looks of the WRC cars in short squat tarmac setup!
Also would love to see them in a Safari spec too! (i'll keep dreaming on that mind)

Ogier vvvv lucky ! !
Kubica, well what can you say that hasn't been said previously.
Meeke " Good to be back on proper Tarmac after a long time away"
Amen to that. Bring back Corsica, a full tarmac Sanremo and a full tarmac Calatunya.

Ogier crashed again this morning! He and Julian are Ok, but taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

Bloody hell - a WRC 2 car will be winning at this rate.....

Still think Evans is going to be another Matthew Wilson - happy to be proved wrong.

The top guys have never been doing so much crashing.... Weird isn't it?
Guess it's to do with those new cars, no real excitement as they grip so so well....until....

I beg to differ. By actually getting to the end of the majority of the events he's driven in this year, he's gained massive experience of the events (now which other individual driving a Ford on this years's WRC circuit could learn a thing or two by doing the same ?) scratchchin as a result I expect/hope Elfyn will be off the leash next year and gain some even more impressive results.

Very much agreed!!

Elfyn has achieved so much more than Wilson could ever have dreamed! Not that I blamed Mat for taking the chance he was given.

I'm surprised anybody thinks young Elfyn is another Matt. He's proved already that he isn't . Winning the Junior WRC showed he has speed; learning with the R5 last year and gaining experience. Malcolm wouldn't have given him the drive as the No2 if he hadn't seen potential.

And this year has seen Elfyn gain more experience, and gradually up his pace when comfortable. Now he's doing events he did last year in the R5; and has upped his pace - and been quicker than his team mate Hirvonen. I suspect they'll let him off the leash on RallyGB, and see were he is. He's doing enough to warrant another season in the car.

You must be a happy chappy tonight as you have been proven wrong - never in a million years would Matt Wilson win a power stage even if some of the top guys were missing. What a fantastic result for Evans coming in ahead of Ostberg and Hirvonen and looks like he had the pace over Mikkelsson.

Gutted for Meeke - it was on a plate for him today. I think he has proven himeself though. If only Ford would back M-Sport again and they could pair Meeke and Evans together in Fiestas next year. Dream on I guess!

Evans another Wilson....Really?? Sacarsm?? Hope so. Evans is shaping up really well this year - and in Germany has gone toe to toe with Hirv & beaten him fair and square on the whole event and the power stage. Things are looking good. Ok Hirv is sadly on the way down - but Evans is on the right path and it's very exciting. As mentioned - Rally GB - really hope they let Evans off the leash fully - he may well end up crashing but we'll see his full pace could be very exciting - I'll be out in Wales watching.

NOW - Dear FIA & Red Bull - please don't screw things up with the WRC - by trying to make daft changes and adding gimics. Respect the WRC for what it is and embrace it's history. The foundations are there, the manufacturers are happy with the regs - just persuade Ford & Toyota to fully back teams and we will have 5 works entrys (running 3 cars each) - 15 works cars. Allow events to be more creative and not run identakit rallies - endurance is good, challenging is good. Please, please don't bring in the 'shoot out' concept being touted.

Things have been building up nicely for the WRC for a couple of years - a few minor tweaks, especially more freedon for events - recognise Rallying is not really a TV sport, but a live action spectacle, embrace this and get more people out in the stages watching it.

It's very exciting - loving it at the moment - and with both Meeke and Evans building up to something good UK representation in the WRC is looking strong.

Just seen Ogier's second day accident yikes
When interviewed Ogier said he had "a lot on his mind at the moment" and "maybe I'm lacking some concentration". Does anyone know what's going on in Sebs life currently ?
Good to see Meeke really enjoying his driving smile

Seb just got married, I haven't heard anything else. I just think jmls increase in speed had him rattled and over driving. Ogier nearly went off at turn 1of stage 1!
