Did you see the spin Paddon had? So lucky to still be going!

Latvala has reduced Ogier's lead this morning, but im sure Seb has plenty of speed left in reserve. Nightmare for Meeke, hitting a rock on stage 9 and getting another puncture.

Leading positions after SS10:

Pos Driver Car Time/Gap
1. Sebastien Ogier Volkswagen 2hr16m33.9s
2. Jari-Matti Latvala Volkswagen +28.3s
3. Mikko Hirvonen M-Sport Ford +51.9s
4. Andreas Mikkelsen Volkswagen +57.4s
5. Mads Ostberg Citroen +1m08.9s
6. Dani Sordo Hyundai +1m40.2s
7. Thierry Neuville Hyundai +3m02.5s
8. Martin Prokop Czech Ford +3m16.1s
9. Robert Kubica M-Sport Ford +5m47.7s
10. Haydon Paddon Hyundai +7m28.8s

Yip, big scary moment that one! Neuville's looked a bit interesting from the in-car too.

Sounds like Paddon is struggling a bit adjusting to the new tarmac tyres today, probably understandable when its his first event using them and he hasn't done a tarmac rally in 12 months.

I know it sounds early. But in reality the earlier you get there the better. You can try and turn up to a stage an hour before first car but your likely to find the carpark over full, and with a hefty walk to the stage, likely missing the first few cars.

I marshalled Dyfi last year and one of the carparks was full by 6am and they were telling people to park in the nearest town and walk backup. This included people with advance car park tickets. The stage didn't go live until 8:58am!
Officially they are expecting spectator numbers to increase again this year.
And as Sweetlamb/myherin is the furthest south stage it's going to attract more speccys than most i'd imagine. That and that it's also one of the popular stages for newbies and families.

Thanks for the advice, will aim to be there as close to 5.30 as I can. I am in a b&b on the Thursday night about 30 mins from the stage so it won't be too bad!

Looking forward to it after watching highlights of the first day in Spain last night!!

So no title decider at WRGB frown

Final places -

1. OGIER
2. LATVALA
3. HIRVONEN
4. OSTBERG
5. SORDO
6. NEUVILLE
7. MIKKELSEN
8. PROKOP
9. PADDON
10. AL-ATTIYAH

Elfyn got back up to 14th & Meeke managed 19th after their restarts

Maybe they'll just go balls out around the stages now there's nothing left to play for, I really fancy a "I'm faster than you!". "ok, prove it" style battle between JML & Ogier.

No, no title decider; though to be truthful, it's taken longer than I expected him to claim it. And having been on Twitter and the web this afternoon , not a great deal of coverage/ interest of Seb Mk11 claiming his 2nd WRC Title.
As someone who follows quite a lot of Motorsport series, I often feel as if Rallying/ WRC is a bit of an 'outsider'; on a quiet-ish Sunday for Motorsport, a WRC Title can't even make the main headline on Autosprout....

Even worse when it is the WTCC as main headline! Even less people give a toss about that, than they do the WRC!

On a positive, the Sky App on my iphone has been reporting the rally this weekend. That's a first.

Fingers crossed Elfyn Evans and Kris Meeke can be challenging for honours at the Wales GB - surely that will raise interest in this country

Well it got a piece in The Metro - free paper read by many commuters, even with a picture of Seb 2.0 - thought that was quite refreshing. Really point forward to rally GB, hope Meeke and Evans are actually up the front on pace. Not long now.

I'm wondering how long your point in the MM feature is going to go ignored for!
The lack of anything BTCC & F1 orientated in MotorsportMonday is common. there wasn't a thing about Petter Solberg making history in either the following MM feature or as a standalone feature.

Its not everyday that someone makes motorsport history by winning 2 different FIA disciplines rolleyes

But then i guess WRC/Rallycross doesn't get the web hits to the site. it is after all a commercial entity now isn't it?
Imagine how much PH would lose out on if Motorsport News decided to do an online service and forum!

edit - Just realized Motorsport News is a Haymarket product too, so no chance they'd do a forum too rolleyes

The web hits is a fair argument; just look at this thread - it's the same set of people commenting on the WRC; that's about 10 people regularly. Pretty damning really for what is meant to be a top Motorsport series.

we don't want the morons spoiling the purity of informed motorsport chat. let them continue to knock one out over the latest f1 fanboi bks and leave the sensible stuff to us officianado's

Love watching WRC in HD.

Anyone else think the drivers shouldn't be able to see or be told the splits in the car during the stage?

Also, people seem to be slating Hirvonen, but he's forth in the championship behind the best cars, the VW Polos in potentially the third best car!

Haven't seen tonight's ITV coverage, stuck in work.

I've mixed feelings on the in car available splits, it can work both ways really, i.e SO knows he's +3s slower than JML at the start but by the midpoint split he sees -2s so knows to keep at the pace. JML gets the same splits so pushes harder to stay ahead. It will either make good racing and flat out corners or cause a driver to push 2/10th too much and go off.

I've got a lot of love for Mikko, was genuinely disappointed when he went to be Loebs bh at Citroen, he seemed to suit the Fiesta, as did JML. he lost his confidence a few seasons ago, when he lost out by a point or two to Loeb, and took a while to build it back up. He seems much happier back in the Fiesta than he ever did in the DS3 and hope he doesn't get sidelined next year, which I think he will in favour of a young star that Malcolm always seems to pick up, Tanak for instance.
