Kris Meeke in 2nd place!! Bouffier leading.... Not what people were expecting!!

Also Elfyn came 2nd on a stage, impressive in his first outing! Kubica looks quick I have to say.

What a day today has been! Only heard the standings at the end of it and was chuffed to bits to see Meeke and Evans up there! Some of the standings don't really reflect the pace of some drivers it was that changeable!

We started off on the snowy ss1 and heard Neuville crash with a bang over what should have been an easy flat crest, wiping out a telegraph pole!
Next stage had snow down so the cars were very slow, but I quite enjoyed watching the car control.

Then in the pouring rain we went back to our first stage of the day at a quick section over a bridge, before moving back to the other stage at a downhill, open hairpin.

2 runs at the stage I pictured above tomorrow. Bring it on!

Decent coverage on Motors TV. Not the onboard-fest it was last time they had the deal.

er than the

Cant agree more vastly better than the rubbish they were putting on a few years back. Good mix of different drivers and teams, also coverage of wrc 2 which is good. No long boring 5 mins overhead on a arrow straight bit of road.

Overall will keep watching it which is a first in over 2-3 years tempted to go to the wales rally at the end of the year be rude not to given as im from wales.

True to form, Kubica has just binned it and out. Ogier takes the lead.

Just watched the live coverage on BT Sport. Decent enough just wish they would shut up when the onboards are on.

Results -> Looks like Kubica binned it and is out. Ogier now leading was absolutely flying compared to everyone else on that stage.

Meeke back up to third overall. Mentioned in post stage interview that seeing a car off knocked his confidence.

whistle

What he did yesterday was hugely impressive. But.......
there was some footage of him driving through a fast left right left in last night's coverage. He looked waaaaay quicker than all the other drivers, but it was also noticeable his entry into the final left had been compromised by the massive speed he'd carried into the proceeding right (it looked like he'd understeered massively going into the right hander)
I still think he needs a different/more strict navigator to temper his enthusiasm.

Typical Bobby k, kind of expected it really the way he was going!

Great day on ss7/9 the viewing was stunning from our hilltop position. Outer had a very lucky moment at the only small bit we couldn't see! Search Rallycameraman on Twitter to see more.

Watched an onboard of stage 3 with meeke. The second half of the stage looked treacherous and it really was just a case of driving slows and not crashing.

Chuffed to see him doing well. We all know his potential so it's good he has been given a chance. Fingers crossed though

Ogier is hauling some now though.

Looks like it's Ogier's to lose - but he's not smooth like Loeb, and has had a couple of 'incidents', can he afford another one tomorrow?
Bouffier has driven well, and as a previous Monte winner shouldn't be a surprise. Hope Meeke can keep his podium place - has driven within himself, and kept it sensible. Ostberg, has also upped his pace as the event has gone on. Mightily impressed with young Elfyn, old head on young shoulders. As for Mikko, he's been poor, no pace at all; must do better!

I've only managed to watch half of the first day highlights on Motors TV up 'til now, but this is exactly what WRC should be about. Unpredictable conditions.

Second day good too.
Christian Loriaux's half French half Cumbrian accent made me smile.

A shame John Desperate's commentary didn't have the same effect. Is he on drugs ?
