Bugger, not looking good at all. Always enjoyed V8 Supercars and their live club race days etc.

It's the lack of full live coverage of WEC, I'm more bothered about, if Motors have truly gone for good.

Is this an indication that motor sport on TV is now effectively a dead duck?

My hunch is that even F1 will struggle to find an audience when it goes off free to air.

You need broadband good enough for that, which I'd have to move house for

The future does seem to be internet rather than TV. The problem is that the internet is not up to scratch for many people yet.

Can't record that on Sky though, and I prefer the commentary (Hindy/Goodwin) used on the WEC/Motors stream.

From what I've read, it's still there if you manually tune. It's just gone from the EPG. But is that the 1st step??

Hmmm - is there a market for motor sport on British TV now?

With regards to motors TV going off air, would this make smaller classes and teams harder to find sponsorship as they now don't have Live TV (or just TV in general) as a selling point? could we see these smaller race series disappear for instance?

Club motorsport perhaps, but given that the WEC, WRC, Dakar, DTM, Blancpain, Porsche Supercup, Andros Trophy, MotoGP, WSB, BTCC, IoM TT, Indycar, Speedway, Race of Champions, Goodwood festival, Formula E, Aussie Supercars, Bathurst 12hr, F1 and many others have coverage across Sky, Eurosport, ITV 4, BT and Channel 4 : I'd say that motorsports broadcasting in general has possibly never been healthier. Several of those show up on multiple channels too, and this is before you consider purely internet feeds (such as the VLN series including the N24, the Japanese Super GT series and now that Motors has gone: the IMSA offerings) that open up a few more options.

I doubt it, racers like to use the TV thing to try to attract sponsors but in reality it's worthless.

Maybe it's all spread too thinly then - or shown at mad hours.

The Sky F1 channel has plenty of time when it could be showing other motorsport, shame they don't seem to want to
