Although they're tweeting that you'll need a HD Freeview receiver to get it in SD ?!?!?! confused
It's just that they are using DVB-T2 rather than the usual DVB-T.

Such a shame that this won't be on normal Freeview. I won't buy Sky or Freeview HD as I hardly watch TV but I'd make an exception for Motors TV

Comments from their Facebook page state that they have no plans to go to standard freeview.

If you buy a HD set top box would it de-scale to standard?

Yep, buy a HD set top box so you can view their SD channel. As far as I'm aware you can't get motors TV in HD wherever or however you watch

It's spare capacity on the HD channels they are using so the Tuner has to be able to use DVB-T2.

I need a new Freesat box now...Do any of them work with Motors TV?
If so, could someone please recommend me a box, preferably one that records?
Thank you,

No. If you have a Freeview HD TV or Box then Motors is on channel 71. You may need to do a rescan and it is not a HD channel.

It doesn't seem to have appeared on the basic virgin channel list. It looks like I'll have to pay for the xl package if I want to watch motors. Unfortunately we have such a poor aerial reception that freebies is impossible to get.

I just gave the new channel a spin by watching the Bathurst Top 10 shootout. Much nicer than the streamed version.

Thanks Motors TV!

Any other tech info available (apart from the channel No?) I’ve got a HD freeview box and rescanned (a number of times) and still can’t pick up Channel 71 and would like to do a manual setup. I can still access the streaming version on channel 240, but would like to ditch this.

Well off the Emley Moor Transmitter it is on Channel 32 along with the extra Channel 4 HD channels and Cbeebies HD, (CBBC HD seems to have been found room on the Main HD multiplex). If you go to the lin below and put in your Post code it should tell you which transmitter you are on and what channels are on which Multiplex.

Only ever do a manual retune on my PVR. Saves it getting clogged up with channels that are too poor a reception to bother with.

Can get motors on my TV but not PVR which is a bit of a pain.

Allisonis is a spambot. It's picked up on a keyword from the thread, grabbed a couple of sentences (probably from Wikipedia) to make its post look "real" and then added the payload with a link to something it's been programmed to try to promote.
