Caught up with the races after a great day out blasting around south/mid wales with a group of mx5.
Great to see such a large number of cars on the grid and a high calibre of drivers within the top 20 or so, bmws look super competitive this year all 3 up there instead of just turks like last year.
Jordan again very consistent continuing for last year, civic tourers don't look that good tbh and the mgs looks a mess apart from Hines's car. Good to see the passats up there but again disappointed with motorbase again hope they get there act together and get back up the front.
Will watch the supports again so can't comment on them.
Deffo attending oulton park, rockingham and maybe a trip up to knockhill, after the dull f1 race glad to see a proper motorsport back on the tv.

I assume u mean their liveries and not their performance? I thought he civic tourer looked quite good actually, seemed to move around a bit as well which made them fun to watch despite not being a particular fan of Neal or shedden! As with almost the whole of pistonheads glad to see Turks doing well, it's great to see the nice guys getting the luck and wins rather than the bulleys! Pleasantly surprised by the support races, some great action in all, especially the clios. Gt races with g50 and Porsche were the poorest of the day probably, but the big heavy cars don't really lend themselves to brands layout, will probs be better for them at Donny.
Some photos from the weekend - thanks to Honda Racing/Team Dynamics for their hospitality

Good to see turks up there aswel as collard and foster he held his own against collard and kept turks honest for a while to.
Will catch up with the support races during the week.

What did everyone make of the Menu/Ingram incident?
Seemed odd to me that earlier Hynes was excluded for (IMO) a clumsy racing incident, while Menu kept his foot in, into a gap getting ever smaller.
Menu is a key figure in the championship, hynes isn't. Simple as that. The top guys get away with so much more than those fighting in midfield or those that are starting to break into the top few because the championship relies so heavily on them to attract crowds and publicity.Seemed odd to me that earlier Hynes was excluded for (IMO) a clumsy racing incident, while Menu kept his foot in, into a gap getting ever smaller.
If menu gets penalised in the end for the incident I will happily be corrected in this instance but in general that's how it lays out and I think it will be even more obvious this year. I think all the former champs will be allowed to get away with much mor than other a this year to keep them at the front for spectator interest

I don't remember the Hynes incident.Seemed odd to me that earlier Hynes was excluded for (IMO) a clumsy racing incident, while Menu kept his foot in, into a gap getting ever smaller.
Menu was only moving in to a closing gap because Ingram continued to move across off the racing line to block Menu, unfortunately for Ingram Menu was not going to be forced in to lifting out or moving on to the grass so Ingram span himself off Menus bumper in to the barrier...

Have they done a 'formula '1 to the Porsches? The engines sound flat, even the new gearbox sounds like a golf double clutch gearbox, not a proper racing sequential gearbox.
The 991 is now paddle shift. They also aren't running with the exhausts pointing at the ground like they were on the 997.
Enjoyed today mostly! Some cracking racing in all events, very professional passing and only a couple of silly mistakes ( In my opinion, Menu maybe could have lifted a touch to not take out Ingram, but hey, I'm not a racing driver and I wasn't in the car driving!) but a thoroughly enjoyable day.
I do struggle to find the Porsche race interesting sometimes though. It's almost like it's 50% too long...
Roll on Donnington, going to be there through work. Cannot wait!!

Haven't been the biggest fan of the BTCC in recent years, but I thought it was a very good start to the year. Let's hope the driving standards remain as they were today - can't complain about anything today.
Alan Gow knows how to put on a good series - and last nights appearance on Sat Night Takeaway was good PR. Is there anyway he can run the BRC??
