Because the idea is to stay within track limits, he gained an advantage by taking a short cut
He was in front at turn in, got clattered and both cars didn't take the corner.

We'll ignore for now Turkington running him wide, deliberately running him off the circuit rather than giving him room previously on the lap.
There is a question in the ards test that goes something along the lines of


Q) your about to turn in to a corner and there is car partially alongside do you :

a) slow down and let the other car past
b) turn in in as normal and have an accident
c) turn in on a wider line allowing just enough room but no more for the other car

to pass the test you need to answer c unless your a btcc driver where the answer is obviously b


if i had been coc i'd given them both a penalty for avoidable accident, and leaving the circuit...
