So after the action packed first rd the next race this weekend is at the Donington park race track.

Normally a track suited to the Hondas if that will remain the same for the tourers will have to find out but expect to see Jordan up there as usual alongside the bmws with all 3 having a good showing at the first rd. This track was also the first win for the new bmw.

Hopefully the likes of motorbase will be more competitive along with the pair of protons hopefully both will be out and up to speed.

Race programme starts a bit earlier this time start at 10.30 itv4 on sunday qualifying live on the website if it actually works.

Will be watching on tv hopefully the weather remains like this for a glorious weekend of racing.

For those going to watch there are also events on both evenings if you are staying nearby.

I want to see someone other than the Hondas/BMWs/MGs on the Podium this weekend.

Well with the pace of ingram in the Toyota and smith/menu in the Passat I think they might get a sneaky podium but I think it will be Honda/mg/bmw cover the top positions.

Is the VW light enough yet ? They struggled all last year to get to the minimum weight, I don`t recall hearing they`d sorted that for 2014, but I assume they have ? confused

The team has undergone extensive work on the Passat from what I could work out so I assume they have got the weight down. With a strong outing at brands I think they will be best of the rest after the Honda/mg/bmw but have been wrong plenty of times.

Sounds like a decent initiative, although I think they should have offered a discount if you bought tickets to both.

Not sure its been too well publicised, though.

No I only found it on the btcc website... And yes I hadn't realised it was at extra cost! Seems pricey to me. Iirc rockingham used to out on concerts at the same time as the races and they were included in entry price?

Smith fastest in Fp1, he must be glad he left Motorbase looking at how slow they are!

Top 13 cars under a second apart, and Smith was under last years pole time.

Quiet on here today everyone must be out enjoying the sun.

So plato grabs pole ahead of shedden and tordoff.

and full results, shocking pace from dan welch hope he can improve tomorrow, and good show from arron smith a good move to bmr as motorbase looks shocking atm. Menu going well too.

Weather is looking alright for Donington now, latest forecast has the rain staying further south.
Which means it's going to chuck it down and be freezing all day obviously!

Hardly shocking when the car turned a wheel for the first time in FP2......

Will we get the usual raceday drizzle at Donington?

And not just that isn't it their own engine build? Sure Wookie posted here after brands saying they were working on the ecu mapping.

I think they've done a very impressive job so far. Give them a couple of races and I'm sure they'll be in the pack. Good luck to them.

I'm there today, hiding from the rain in one of the hospitality tents. Looking forward to it!

Rain has eased off, we're in a suite at the pit exit.

As a side note, how does one get into suite like that below or a hospitality package?
