the last corner will split many people, I am in the opinion that Sheddon never planned to make that corner, I think turks could have made the corner but decided to try and skip it to stay in front of the rally cross honda. Sheddon knew he couldn't get past him properly so there was only one option for him.
But then Turks should have stayed on track to prove that Sheddon was just cutting the corner because he could, and appealed. Because Turks cut the corner it becomes a "no advantage" type situation. The most obvious answer is that Turks was too quick to stay on track, Sheddon may or may not have been going too quick but we'll never know, because with Turks going off he had no option but to cut as well.

How can shedden be the winner of race 3 when he passed by going across the gravel?
If there had been a wall there instead of kerbs he'd of been out.
Sheddon arrives at the corner first, his car rotates but Turkington forces him out hence why the BMW was on the gravel too. Colin did the same a few corners earlier. If there had been a wall there instead of kerbs he'd of been out.
Sheddon deserved the win, brilliant drive. Colin, as much as I like him, was only in front because of the off the line traction of the RWD BMW, giving him a nice cushion while everyone behind scrambled all over each other.
Turkington just didn't make his car wide enough, great race, both deserved the win.

I agree. Sheddon's plan was to make a bit of contact, straighten the wheel and floor it, which is what he did. The car on the left is always going to win a drag race across the gravel. Would Sheddon have tried that if it wasn't the last lap? Of course not.Edited by VladD on Wednesday 23 April 15:04
[quote=leedsutd1]The BTCC organisers decided to remove the tyres where the big accident occurred, after several crashes caused the tyres to damage the concrete barrier, thus so much damage to the car sunday[/quo
so rather than damage a barrier which wouldn't cost much to fix...they deem it safer to risk the lives of drivers....wtf....

There would be bigger problems if the concrete broke and gave way...so rather than damage a barrier which wouldn't cost much to fix...they deem it safer to risk the lives of drivers....wtf....
They do need to sort that part of the track out though. I love Donington but it has a long way to come still. Sometimes I wish MSV would get hold of it and sort it out.

I'm sure repairs to a concrete barrier would have been preferable to Coles team than the written off car and risk of injury to the driver.so rather than damage a barrier which wouldn't cost much to fix...they deem it safer to risk the lives of drivers....wtf....
Seems like the circuit has it's priorities in the wrong order.

This write up is a hundred times better than I thought we would get when they announced the "competition" to report.
A job very, very well done.
Thanks, Hamsternator. Your cheque is in the post A job very, very well done.
As an aside, I learned from United Autosport that a new Avensis shell had already been delivered and the team was rebuilding the car. Fingers crossed it's completed in time.
