it will be a real shame to have a smaller grid, as for Keith and me its a great timetable, live 10 mins away and Robs workshop is 5 mins, can't bloody wait I love brands, paddock hill bend is one of the best in the country, sounds like its going to be lonely out there!!
You know what Tim ..your right we will be there ..I know I'm 2 seconds of you boys and no threat at the moment but I always will be if I bow out ..see you there ...car will have to stay taped up ..

Latest from JR and Geoff and subject to final confirmation from BRSCC.

Qually will be last session on Saturday
Race 1 on Sunday AM
Race 2 around 3:40 Sunday PM.

Andy Britnell will be racing and as it's a memorial race, presentations, viewing, lunch etc will be in a Hospitality Suite.

Dont forget also, proof of Front Hub crack testing will need to be presented at scrutineering at Brands.

Is front hub crack testing a tuscan only issue or apply to all cars ? . Dont think my cerb hubs suffer from the same problem . If time table stays similar to new one and I can test friday I should make Brands

Hi all,

Had a conversation with Geoff and he confirmed that again subject to confirmation we will have Qualification late on Saturday and two races on Sunday.

As we will be using a hospitality suite we wont be running our own set up in the usual way. Instead we will run it all out of the hospitality suit. It is just too much work to run two separate locations.

So all of the usual driver, team and guest facilities will run from the hospitality suite.

For those not familiar with the set up.

The suites are opposite race control and the start line. Access for is either via the main gate with some allocated parking at the top. There are shops etc under the hospitality suites and access from the outer paddock is either up the hill towards the Kentagon and turn left or through the tunnel that gives access from the outer paddock to the assembly area and pit garages.

There is also a pedestrian tunnel under the track that comes goes from under race control to the suite area. John and I will discuss what of our kit we will be taking down. Further info to come via email.

If any one of the drivers has a bike they can get in their truck for me to use I would be grateful as I can see one of us is going to be doing a lot of trips between the suite and the outer paddock.

get them done mate. My hub gave way under me at Cadwell. Not funny and could have lost the car...or me! Yours are road hubs and have had much more heat and load through them than they were designed for. That was in the Griff btw

The Tuscans have a weak spot in the front hubs and crack testing became mandatory after one failed at Combe and a spectator was killed.

They do need to be tested or changed. I had one fail at Brands and as Andy says it's not fun - you lose steering and then your brakes.

The griff hubs are Granada and similar to the Tuscan.

The Cerbera hubs are ex Jeep and rather more substantial. I don't think there is anything in the regs requiring you to crack test them, but it would be sensible to change them periodically. Especially if you clatter kerbs regularly. Not worth crack testing given the price of the hub - aren't they a complete unit including bearings that just bolt on? I doubt you can test them as a sealed unit anyway.

The Cerbera hubs are massively strong! Can't see you having an issue with them.

Following from Andys post, If you are using the sealed Jeep type hubs, you cant really split them for testing like the ford ones anyway, so replacement would be best as they're only 50ea.

Not owrth the risk IMHO.

Several Tuscan/Ford type hunbs have failed over the last 7 years or so in various series.
They said mine would be ok as the car wasnt as fast as a Tuscan.
It was heavier though...and I use the kerbs.
It was NEARLY as fast as a Tuscan, would have been if they'd had Tuscan Rover engines biggrin
