Not long back from Silverstone, back there again after collecting my son George from schol at 01:00 in the morning after his trip to Normandy..he will want to go to see the racing tomorrow!
...but thought I would post a copy of a thread that I have posted on the Warks & West Mids TVRCC forum.....here it is ...
Not sure if anyone has seen this thread....but I will give you a flavour of todays events...
The day started rather wet for Qualifying....
Tims car developed a misfire...dropped time, they think it is a crank sensor ...ended up 20th on the grid...which is v. frustrating for all concerned...great viewing and access all day long from my perspective...the new garages at Silverstone are great....you get so close to the action
Time was spent trying to establish where the issue arose...one theory was that as lights, blowers and wipers were being used and the crank sensor was not receiving suffient input...parameters were extended over the sensor input in the hope that it would do the trick...
Some nice cars around the pit garages...
Including...Steve's LS Purple Sagaris..
.
And Darren Dowlings orange 4.7 AJP
Then there was the race Tim sat patiently prepping his mindset before the start...
The start went well Tim worked his way through the field upto around 11th then the quickshift stopped working putting him into a spin...ended up finishing 12th ...respectable performance consdieringClapClapClap
He gets to qualify again tomorrow...as will Darren...two TVR's in the mix thenThumbs Up
A few folks have posted following this thread....lets hope tomorrow works out...Just spoke to Ben who works on the team now he reckons they will be working to around 02:00 tomorrow to sort various sensors etc...their ecu chap is still working through diagnosis stuff at the moment...

The purple car was tested on Friday as part of thei preparation for a race at Thruxton, which I think is next weekend?
I spoke with them last night they were still working on Tims car 01:45 this morning sorting the rear diffuser out ...now that's dedication, we are off down there in a minute....fingers crossed!
