Scrappy race for Palmer. Didn't have the car he normally has under him today.
Shame cos it was a massive ad for why there are some very talented drivers in GP2 and what a great formula it is. Marciello drove a very mature race indeed.

Both good series if ultimately flawed under the Bernie brigade.
Limited set up changes ensures endless possibilites in a race, helped by reverse grid second race. The downside is if you get innocently taked out the first race you may as well go home... back of the grid for race 2.

I spent 2 years in the paddock and loved it.

It's amazing just how much he controls and what you can and mostly cannot do !

Yes. I heard a lot of stories about gp2 before I was involved in anything and it's frightening what was allegedly happening. Cheating caught red handed and no penalties given because it looks bad for the series...

Does anyone know what Coloni were kicked out for a couple of years ago? Think they suddenly pulled out of the next season and lost all their points in the teams championship, but I can't remember why. I don't think the reason was ever made public.

No funds. Overspent starting the Auto GP series (purchase of all the cars etc) and didn't secure the right calibre of drivers with the right funds; despite putting experienced (quick) drivers in one car to showcase the car / team - think they got a couple of wins towards the end of their time in GP2.

I think there was a lot more to it than that.

I think there was an internal issue with management and him

It looked like Johnny Cecotto had improved this year, but qualy showed that he is still a class A prick. How does this man still have an international race license?!

Because there's always Haryanto and Canamasass driving like dicks to take the attention away from Cecotto.

This is true.

I see Palmer has been sent to the back of the grid for not having enough fuel left after qualy. st news, but watching one of the best overtakers in the field (Hopefully) work his way through should be quite something.

Agreed. Scarily bad driving by Canamassas though and a well deserved black flag for him.

Cecotto is useless.
Canamasas is a liability and need his licence revoking.
Vandoorne is incredible and I tip him to take Buttons seat at McLaren next year.

Commentator Will Buxton's view on Canamassas, and I can't say I really disagree with him, it is just incredible how the stewards let him off so lightly!

On the complete opposite end of the scale, Palmer was superb last weekend! Great, controlled aggression in the feature race, before a perfectly controlled sprint race! I do wonder where he could fit into F1 next year?

He is the first front running gp2 driver in a long time that I haven't heard rumours about joining the f1 grid next year actually? Other drivers seem to be much more in favour in f1 than palmer? I would have thought he could replace chilton pretty easily though if he brings enough money though and try to work his way up the grid?
