I take it the inside of brundle was the designated day-tent-wker area? One of my favourite places to stand but walked over and it was like one of those protest camps but more chavvy.

Anyway... A few pics

Looked like a few people jumped the start of Race 3 (the cars moved before the lights shown the top left corner on the TV picture went out).
They all went before the red shown on the TV in all the races, I don't think the TV pictures of those reds are synced properly.
yeah, pretty annoying trying to see if anyone jumps the start or not

the gremlins seemed to creep into the broadcast latterly:
Colin Turkington was listed twice for race 3 - but had J P's face tho' laugh
and then the final points table appeared to miss off the points Plato scored in the 3rd race .....

great racing !

Seriously !?!

That was blatant. Sometimes the penalties don`t seem to reflect what we see. Now I do admit that sometimes, the data shows the car ahead braked early etc, but surely that isn`t always the case ??

Cheers but another disappointing weekend (as expected unfortunately). Don't think I can make up for a 10-15mph speed disadvantage, Dan's was even running properly and he was still miles off down the straights!

Expect a big change between now and Knockhill...

Think you need it chap, that with your 30 point deduction for using too many engines has really rubbed salt into the wounds.
Dare i say an engine supplier change must be the order of the day? Can't be helping your next year chances frown
Anyway, onwards and upwards, least it can only get better hehe

Haha, actually the futility of giving us a point deduction when we're still on a duck was probably the only laugh we got all weekend... Well except maybe me having to do my car exit test on Sunday morning!

I've actually had a lot of support over the weekend from my old teams and mechanics plus various others come to me and say how I look at least as committed as anyone else out there in the corners but get slaughtered down the straights. I even get other drivers come up to me and say 'fk me that thing is gutless'! I think everyone in the paddock sees it for what it is.

We'll be making an announcement soon as things need to be confirmed but the ball is rolling and it should be a quick and easy change.

I think it's a bit selfish to stick up a day tent the size of a 3-4 person tent and then sit next to it with camping chairs, but that's just me. It was only one anyway anyway. I found much more humour in the man behind me telling his children to 'kick' their way through me so they could push their way to the front for the grid walk. Seems like families spend over £50 to get in, and then try and grab all the freebies they can and watch about 2 mins of the racing. I actually hate the general public so I should probably avoid biggrin

Going back to a customer engine I hope. It's a shame that Welch was getting stuck in last season so the car is obviously capable so hopefully this big change will put the Proton back up there.

Hoping to see the Proton back up there again soon, it's a car that clearly has potential. Dan Welch had some good showings on it last year, just a shame the new engine hasn't worked out.

Since the re-configuration of the circuit there are now banners identifying the names of the corners.

This time I didn't see one for the last corner which, in 2011, was re-named 'Murrays' - as a tribute to Murray Walker.
And the commentary team referred to it only as 'the last corner' or 'what used to be called Russell'.

Admittedly I didn't watch all the races, but I got the impression that the name had been deliberately erased.

Sounds to me like your one of those people that think even though we've both paid the same to get in you should be able to stand exactly where you want at any point of the day.

Tracks don't want singletons who turn up with there ruck sack of food they want your 4 person family who will spend st loads on food etc during the day.

Surely a day tent is only like waist height so unless your a dwarf isn't going to be a problem unlike the hobby photographers who rock up get to the fence then stand on fking step ladders.

Re avoiding the general public i don't think you have much choice as i'm guessing you have no trackside pass?

1. No, if I want to do that I will go and watch some club racing

2. I paid £33 to get in, I paid £5 for a programme, £4 for a burger. I also went to Snetterton on June the 8th and paid £14 to watch club racing and I ate in the track cafe, I'm sure tracks want people like me. Some of the families carried around coolboxes and so did the people with day tents, no need to make generalisations.

3. They were pretty big and no, I do not carry ladders around and I won't get in the way of anyone.

4. No, although my grievance was about not being able to take pictures, I'll always just find a space where I can, I just wanted to watch but couldn't because one part of the banking was turned into a base camp.

I just think it's a bit selfish and I don't know why some people can't make do with a couple of chairs and a brolly if it rains.

This is nothing new though.

At brands if you want to get a good spot at paddock hill or druids then you have to get up early and get your spot early otherwise you'll be standing elsewhere.

I don't want to get up early if i'm not working so always get a grandstand that way i can turn up 20 mins before the first race and know i've got a seat/view.

That green fishing tent i'll give you was quite big.

Has Plato been giving out the penalties?
Now call me mr cynical however I can't help thinking (and I'd love to see Matt Neals telemetry) that Neal lifted on purpose to let Turkington run up the back of him, Neal has nothing to lose, his championship is finished this year but Sheddon will certainly get an advantage if he qualifies well at Knockhill, which is a preferred circuit of his smile
