There's been a very bad crazy at the start of the pre-66 grand prix car race at the Silverstone classic.

judging by the activity on track, i think this guy could do with some prayers.

Should have added that there has been no announcement of which car or driver but i think that's to be expected.
one of those occasions you really don't want to get the name wrong.

i am reading the fact that they are resuming racing as good news. (not just because i want to watch more racing!

Apologies if this causes offence, but why start a thread to state that someone may well be seriously injured?

To me-no doubt the only one- it screams of attention whoring a la facebook, where people trip over themselves to be the first to report something, solely for the imaginary kudos of doing so.

best wishes to the driver involved but surely if a life is potentially at stake, a touch of decorum and waiting for some hard facts would be better?

It's news on a huge motoring forum, don't post if you don't like it.

Bit like attention whoring by criticism, taking the imaginary high moral ground, eh?

No 'moral high ground'involved, imaginary or otherwise.

I am hoping this is correct, reports suggest that the driver sustained a broken leg. Hopefully that is the only injury.

It was a big off and a roll, but the deceleration was reduced by the acute angle of impact with the barrier. Good thing as these older cars are nothing like as safe as we see today in pretty much any formula.

Wishes for a speedy recovery to the chap.
