Gone bust - directors sent to jail.

Par for the course regarding anything connected with Bernie.

Whenever I see a bottle of Warsteiner in the supermarket, it makes me think of Smokin Jo Winkelhock in a BMW on opposite lock.

Brilliant thread, get the same feeling when seeing a motorsport related sponsor.

How about Telefonica Movistar (Some sort of technology company), appeared on many a MotoGP bike and rally car.

Then there is this car, sponsored by "Renown" who I have just found out is a clothing manufacturer.

Falken (Tyres), most will recognise their blue/green livery.

And out of the more modern ones it has to be Petronas (Oil/Gas company).

Telefonica are a mobile phone network and the owners of O2. I think Movistar might be a satellite/cable TV brand in the same company.

A lot of my impressions of sponsors come from having the toy car as a child. Like the Vaillant Porsche, the BASF BMW M1 and a few more Burago models.

Surtees always found some interesting sponsors:

That Durex livery always reminds me of an old Jasper Carrot joke where he joked that it was never shown on the TV even when it was leading except when it was in the pits with a punctured tyre tongue out

Jaagermeister, discovered what this was to my cost, best as a paint scheme on, or running racing BMW's on it rather than drinking it, its a kind of spicy alcoholic, version of Cuprinol.
laugh It's an acquired taste isn't it? Have to agree, the paint scheme is far more pleasant - this has been my desktop for a good while now;

When I had my new central heating boiler installed last year I had a choice of Worcester Bosch or Vaillant.

Worcester Bosch (as far as I know) never sponsored achingly cool Porsche GT racers. No contest.

I've only ever smoked one packet of cigarettes in my life, I was trying to look cool in front of some new friends and not knowing anything about smoking or cigarettes, i went up to the counter and asked for 20 Marlboro because of Mclaren and Senna. I then spent the next day coughing my guts up....

I didn't know until just now that Courtaulds is a textile company!

Not really iconic (yet?) but as soon as I got back from Le Mans this year I had to google DMG Mori:

CNC machine stuff...
