Yeh I'd echo that, oh and the daily fail or sun are easy to get in, get a fideo of your car drifting, with other cars, get it on youtube with a link to your twitter feed or facebook account, it will get a few views on their website, hey presto instant exposure for sponsors, without doing much work, if it looks cool and goes bang the mail will have a video of it

Also consider where you spend your money in your non motorsport life. For example I regularly see a chiropractor and she agreed to me putting her name on the car in return for substantially discounted fees. It is much easier to ask for a discount than a lump of cash. If you, or the company you work for, are important to clients or suppliers that can also be a route to sponsorship - even if the sponsorship brings them little beyond underpinning the relationship with you. Some very good advice throughout the thread which is good to see. Good luck smile

Good look in the search for the sponsorship hunt!

I would think that a drift car would maybe get some interest as it is a bit "different" compared to the usual circuit racers.

Was at Japfest2 this past weekend and the British Drift Championship guys were giving passenger rides (£15 for about 2-3 minutes in the car), that was non stop all day. Could easily offer something similar on some drift days to sponsors perhaps?

Look at what you can do for your sponsors away from the track and for each other..

Some examples:

If you have a tyre supplier for the car, can you get a tyre garage involved (swapping rims over etc) and introduce him to the tyre supplier so he can sell their range..

Sponsored by a bottled water company? try and get sponsorship from a hotel group (with rooms near to the circuits you go to) introduce them to each other so that the water supplier gets them into the hotel and the reps for the water company stay at the hotel when on the road...

Is that a huge front splitter or just a shadow making it look like one?

Thread Revival

So it all went to plan. We got Avon Tyres on board by a chance conversation with someone and that was that.

Carried on this season and finished second overall, which we are over the moon with. Only car in the top five without a sequential gearbox and 15" tyres.

Car has got a couple of extra events including going to Ireland this weekend for some fun at final round of IDC.

Car is currently for sale, so we shall see what the future brings.

Go to the SAFEisFAST website for a lot of help on this. Great website for all motorsport participants.
