Austin cried about contact after race 1, first thing he does in race 2? Drives into Shedden.
According to RAR on Facebook, the first thing he did was get nudged wide by Neal "typical Honda shove" which resulted in slightly bent steering. I'm not sure if it was Rob or Matt Jackson who then hit Shedden - they were both in the right place to do it.

There was some contact between the two during the race, after the checkered flag somerfield deliberately crashed into the back of walkinshaw, walkinshaw then drove up to the back of somerfield and tried to spin him around.
Looks like they will both end up taking a trip to the MSA.The Mr Cool Aron Smith lost his rag for his own collision. Idiot.
Plato hit & broke Austin in last race, only thing we saw on ITV4 was on-board. I (would like to think) Plato having nowhere to go because Austin come straight across in front. Either way both lost out
Anybody else get the impression that Tim Harvey is NOT a Plato fan? Plato in third overall yet he gives more praise to Jordan who has been average at best this season. He should go well at the circuits coming up where the speed of the MG6 will wipe the floor with the Hondas. Could be back in contention. Yet, Harvey GIVES HIM NO CREDIT.
I have to say, my respect for Turks is at all time high. Best driver out there, but it is clear the cars clearly best at Knockhill; even Nick Foster got 4th!

Walkinshaw & Somerfield shouldn't be racing again.
Just catching up with this - Somerfield should get a ban for his actions. Walkinshaw reacted and might get away without a ban but points for sure. Both excluded from the resultshttp://www.thecheckeredflag.co.uk/2014/08/somerfie...

It's easy to comment without knowing the full picture. I know Reece (sort of) through my Caterham team, and he's a thoroughly nice character and a very good driver. From his interview post race, and from what he's posted in response to someone on FB, it would seem he realised as soon as he hit Fergus that it was a really stupid thing to do. Red Mist is a pretty powerful catalyst even for a usually mild mannered Brummy!http://www.thecheckeredflag.co.uk/2014/08/somerfie...
I believe there was a lot more to it that wasn't shown on TV prior to the incident post Finish Line, and I guess when someone has consistently rammed you for 3 or 4 laps prior in an attempt to get past, you can see how it's going to wind someone up.
Ultimately, the post race result (DQ and points for both Reese and Fergus) would seem to indicate that they were both considered to be to blame for the incident. In my experience, to get DQ'd requires pretty solid evidence that the driver was driving in a manner that corresponds with a specific point in the Blue Book. Both were excluded under C1.1.5 "Making another competitor lose control or otherwise causing an avoidable incident" which would imply that Fergus' actions were considered to be as serious as Reece's.

Someone should show the Somerfield/Walkinshaw footage to everyone in the media mithering on and on about that miniscule Rosberg/Hamilton storm in a teacup. With the comment "Now this, fellas, is what deliberately driving into someone looks like!"
I did love the splendid hypocrisy of the ITV4 commentators saying things like "We don't want to see stuff like this on a racetrack" while the coverage repeated it ad infinitum though...

It was my comments (amongst other's) on FB that you're probably referring to. I was pretty disgusted with what i saw. There is no excuse for what he did, and i can't imagine ever deliberately damaging my own race car like that! His response was very abrupt and quite frankly rude. He came across in that post as very arrogant.I believe there was a lot more to it that wasn't shown on TV prior to the incident post Finish Line, and I guess when someone has consistently rammed you for 3 or 4 laps prior in an attempt to get past, you can see how it's going to wind someone up.

I've been casually watching the Ginettas because i know Reece is an ex caterham racer, but i won't bother now.
I'm an ex Caterham racer - and we'll there is a lot of contact in Caterhams to a point.
Deliberately ramming someone before the flag or after should be a ban - I think it's that straight forward.
I had someone deliberately drive into me in the BRSCC Porsches last year - effectively it's assault with a deadly weapon.

I appreciate what you're saying, but if say I came to watch a Graduates race, and you perhaps drove someone off the track (accidentally or otherwise) and then I wrote about it on your Facebook wall with a slightly derogatory tone, you can hardly say you wouldn't be a little miffed? I've been casually watching the Ginettas because i know Reece is an ex caterham racer, but i won't bother now.
Whilst we share a number of similar friends through Caterhams, not actually knowing you, I imagine you'd feel it a bit unnecessary on my part right?
It's pretty clear Reece knows it's was a silly thing to do, and I guess he's probably a bit sensitive about people reminding him (and hence all of his friends on Facebook) of what happened in a disapproving manner!
