I'm trying to find the history of an onl Lola chassis, B2K/00 chassis No 0516.

Where would be a good place to look?

Try asking on the F1technical.net forums - there are many people who post on there who know someone, or actualy have, been invovled with many motorsport catagories

www.lolaheritage.co.uk might be able to help.

The B2K/00 was the CART Chassis. Dale Coyne were running the Lola that season with Cosworth power I think, not many chassis around so shouldn't be too difficult!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_CART_season

Dale Coyne and Aceiro ran the same cars the following season.

This chassis had quite an off somewhere as the top surface of the chassis had clearly been down the track at some point. The outer carbon plies had been worn away, through to the honeycomb core

Still like that? I would envisage with that sort of damage it was written off as an uneconomic repair.

Ironically we were doing some of the insurance inspections on the CART cars at around that time, I will see if we have anything on file.

Lot depends on where the damage is and how bad but there is a massive amount that can be repaired quite simply-thou that doesn't stop some people charging a massive amount
Having said that have seen the other end and people trying to replace suspension points and engine mounts with a little wet lay carbon

Yes, we've seen and worked on some cars with fairly comprehensive tub damage that are OK for repair - as you say its a factor of where and the extent of the damage.
