That was worrying. Thought there was gonna be a serious injury from that accident.

Bad bad move by Prost. As Dario said sometimes you've just got to accept your going to be overtaken.

So did 3rd, 4th and 6th end up on the podium? What an embarrassment for the opening race.

They faded out the team National Anthem and then everyone stood around looking confused.

It's not exactly slick and well-oiled is it.

Haha the thought must have been there somewhere!

On another note I enjoyed that, some really good racing (apart from the end!) Sam bird must be feeling very lucky! The cars could maybe do with more power, but actually the fact that they are a bit down on power means that momentum is so important and that drivers cannot just plant the throttle to get out of mistakes.

It's not F1 the car wasn't going that fast, why are they going on and on and on and on and on and on etc

Maybe it's because they've got bugger all else to talk about

I can't believe that just happened! Looking forward to the judgement on that and glad both drivers are okay.

I actually have a headache from the engine noise now. It drilled into my skull.

I might give the next race another go. Maybe with the sound turned down or with an EQ filter on the audio to take the high end off.

The drivers were good, the cars were good, and it had an exciting, if unfortunate conclusion.

However, the circuit was poor, the music and fan boost were pointless and I'd rather have seen two short races than those pit stops.

Interesting start to the series.

Is Prost stupid?! How can he not take responsibility for what he's done.

I'm not sure what race Prost was relating to, but it certainly wasn't the race he was just driving in. That was a swerve block through and through. (and as the commentators have said, it was well before the turn-in point)

How did the car just take off like that?! It wasn't that far away from being a very nasty injury if his head hit something first.

I thought it was good! Considering it's the first ever race they have plenty to build on.

Good analysis by itv, and Nicki Shields in the pit lane DING DONG.

Very silly move by Prost. Downright dangerous.

In the WEC those two are team mates in the #12 Rebellion, which may give added spice to the rest of their season. At least Heidfeld can be grateful they're never on track at the same time...

It was the daft sausage curb, the same thing happened in Spa in GP3 -

Overall, I think it went well the cars can run close together and there was a descent amount of good racing as a result. It's got plenty of issues, but I can't help feel people are being a little unfair being so critical so early on, you've got to give them a chance to iron the problems out. If they can iron the problems out I think there is plenty of potential, particularly when the teams start developing the cars next season with such new technology there has got to be plenty of scope for things to change quite rapidly.

Yes, they are stupidly unsafe things, if you get a driver losing it into a corner they would previously hit the safety structures on the side of the other car, these sausage things launch cars up to drivers head heights.

The strange thing is the danger they pose is really very clear, and yet we keep on seeing them. When you consider some of the other changes made to tracks for safety it really is difficult to understand.
