Some of you will already heard of (and possibly entered) this event, but for those who have not please do have a look at the latest Mission Motorsport event, the 2014 Race of Remembrance.

This is an 8 hour endurance race at Anglesey Circuit (on the largest International layout) taking place on November 8-9. Not long from now actually. It is open to all cars up to 2000cc in 4 categories (listed on the website) - the biggest and most exciting one is the 'Heroes Trophy' - this is a true old school endurance class - 1 car / 4 drivers / 8 hours / flat out.
The format for the weekend is chock-a-block with cool stuff.
The race itself takes place from 0800 - 1600hrs on Sunday 9th and will be full of some rather familiar names. Dickie Meaden, Nick Trott and the EVO blokes are putting together a team and there are a whole host of other current and past BTCC drivers taking part. Fancy going wheel to wheel with Rob Austin, Paul O'Neill, Dan Welch or Adam Morgan? Stick in an entry and you will be (BTCC body checking optional!)
Before that on Saturday there is qualifying followed by historic F1 display laps, gokarting, MX5 autotesting, some monster truck stuff and lots more. In addition there will be drift cars and supercars doing passenger laps.
Don't forget the parties. We've got pretty good at these now (just ask Dickie & Monkey about the night before the Mission Motorsport Invitational the other week...) There will be several. They are gnarly.
The event has been planned, organised and executed by our resident chopper pilot and Mission Motorsport co-founder dude Jon Earp (his bio here: http://www.missionmotorsport.org/the-details/who-a... )
Entries are filling up fast so if you'd like any more info get in touch with me (via PH private message) or Jon directly on je@missionmotorsport.org
This event is being supported by a huge number of people and is a pure charity event, nobody is lining their pockets and all profits (if any!) go to Mission Motorsport.
Check out the site and if you like the look of it get in touch.
Cheers,
Ben

Cheers Ben for getting us going on here, and thanks PH for letting us shout out about what we're up to.
32 entries in, max grid of 45.
Any takers?
A bit of news from yesterday (because they're very nice people) Anglesey have given us the track for Friday too, so anyone entering the race will now get a FREE test-day.
So, say six-seven hours track-time on the Friday, four 30-min quali' sessions on Saturday morning before the Supercar Saturday kicks off, then the Eight hour Sunday race.
That's 16 hours track-time for £500 quid each if you enter a team of four drivers. That's trackday money for an endurance race...still not interested?

Will be racing an MX5 for Team Scuzzle Motorsport. Going to be great fun and can't wait to wave at Ben (Benjj) as I lap him over and over again! That's for the "Cobra incident" Ben!
Great value, a great cause and guaranteed banter from all.
Fantastic news mate Great value, a great cause and guaranteed banter from all.
I don't think any of us were expecting you to be allowed anywhere near the place so good for you. Are you in one of the Jota works cars? I sincerely hope so as Team Clunge has just secured the use of a (German) manufacturer supported full Cup level enduro prepped car...
Ha ha ha ha haaaaaa!

Ben, I'm only back from a trip to the USGP the day before the event but will try my absolute best to get over to this. The in-laws are near Colwyn Bay so I've got a good base in North Wales. I'll see what I can do!
Good man, lots going on all weekend long. Race kicks off Sunday morning.Ladies & Gents,
This is looming now and we're all really getting behind it at MM to get a final few cars on the grid.
We have capacity for 45 (which would be unbelievably mega) and we're currently knocking on around early 30s.
If you're keen please drop me a line (or Jon above who is the bloke doing all the hard work )
It'll be a fantastic weekend.

Hi Ben,
How do you go about buying tickets just to come along and watch this? I've looked at the website but can't seem to find anything.
Morning matey. How do you go about buying tickets just to come along and watch this? I've looked at the website but can't seem to find anything.
Entry is £10 - that's JUST a tenner - per person and that is for a WEEKEND ticket so you can come back Sunday and support the racing for cock-all extra! Usual UK circuit rules for free entry for kids and Forces Veterans are also free welcome to attend on us (we just need an email/twitter DM/FB PM/carrier pigeon message so we can advise the gate of names).
Passenger laps are £25, that's 25 quid for the supercars, racecars, drives with one of our guest drivers, or laps in the drift taxis. All this will be going on concurrently, the drifters on Club, the race and supercars on National.
The line-up for Supercar Saturday is still growing (daily!)
Guest Drivers, alphabetically we have: Rob Austin, Elliott Cole, Calum Lockie, Adam Morgan, Paul O'Neill and (hopefully) Dan Welch. Lucy Welch is due about that time, some things we just can't plan for! These boys are also then joining teams for the endurance race.
Our biggest news is Adam Morgan and Ciceley Motorsport are bringing their BTCC rec-winning Mercedes A-class. It WILL be doing passenger laps but at £12/km to run (yep really) we are limited on what it will do and are running prizes for the Passenger laps in it to be completely fair across the board. There is huge Ciceley support going into the weekend, including their full BTCC hospitality suite and more cars to join the Supercar Saturday line-up. There is a certain someone within their team who happens to be ex-Forces and we are very, very grateful to him, Russell, Wix and MAC Tools, indeed the whole team, who are giving up yet another weekend (for free) to come and join us.
Evo Magazine are on hand with some cars for the pax-laps too: McLaren 650 S, Porsche Carrera 911 S, Mercedes A45 AMG, posiibly we can convince Dickie to bring the R8 too!
Some private owners are bringing God-only knows what, but needless to say an eclectic selection of very special metal.
The Team Nankang boys are also attending with some ridiculously powerful drift machines and if you fancy hot-laps with a grid girl at the wheel, Michelle Westby (just Google her, but not if the Mrs is sat next to you!) is bringing her car and running too!
In the paddock we have the MX-5 Owners Club running an auto-test with a shiny new MX-5 borrowed from Mazda UK - who are massively supporting us with all the support vehicles for the event. I've promised to be return the car in the same state it arrives but the 1st, 2nd and reverse gear course will be a bit of fun. We also have go-karts for the youngsters, get them into the sport we all love so dearly!
We also have a small collection of past F1 cars, running a 'living museum' in one of the garages all weekend and breaking up the monotony (!) of the afternoon with showcase laps. Griff is bringing his Lotus V8 101 and a very kind (anon) donor has lent us his Minardi V10 M198. I'm working on one more, something rather special...
We have the race drivers briefing around two on the Sat afternoon so will need to pretty much close down the pax-laps whilst everyone attends that, so if you're clock-watching that may well be a good time to find the best spot in the house around the Circuit.
The race itself, well, it's an eight hour endurance race, but (we think) for the first time in British Motorsport history, we pause at 10:45 hours for our own pit-lane Remembrance Service. We are a Service Charity, seemed only the right thing to do. Souvenir race programmes have the full Church Service in them so everyone can listen in via the Circuit PA and we have a Welsh male voice choir and Army Chaplain also. Even if not a religious type, I've a feeling the Service will be a very emotional 30 minutes...
Hope that helps.
Lastly, we're putting the team names up on the website shortly, but with so many teams running their last races this weekend (of which the Birkett has many endurance entries also looking to us if they survive!) I'll add them here too.
Currently everything from BRITACR Golfs and Supercopas, through Lotus and Exige entries, all the way down to relay teams of Club racers in open-top MX-5s.
In summary, it's a cocking huge event. And all organised on a budget of zero.
Thank you to everyone that has helped us put this together, truly incredible.
