They need something coupe rather than hatch, and RWD to fit his needs. There's not a lot of options out there.
Is there any reason why the BMW 2 series wouldn't be viable?Allyc85 said:
Nick Foster gets the WSR seat for Rockingham then. While I would like to have seen a youngster get a chance, it does make sense to have someone who knows the car.
Yep makes sense will pick up steady points throughout the 3 races and wont take points away for tordoff which needs all the points going to still be within the chance of the title. With plato and the teams best circuit Silverstone after rockingham will plato try and let the Honda jump ahead in the points to lose some weight for Silverstone. Then again plato qualified 1st a oulton park and a 1-2 with full ballest anyway.
Going to be interesting how comes out of this round the best, think this be an mg track with Jordan picking up the most points along with toroff with the Honda behind them with bmr very close.
Im going for 6 drivers in with a chance of the title come brands.

The ITV commentators were saying that Rockingham was not a circuit that suited the Mercedes, but Aiden Moffat achieves P8, .038 off pole!
Hes the next big name future champion for sure now hes has had that podium finish the results should start coming and lets be honest the merc isn't a slow car.less that 1s covering the top 20 cars the good.
Rockingham though can either offer close exciting racing or can be spread out and pretty boring.
Jackson looks good for race 1 again plato will just be doing his best to pick up solid points in all 3 races like Jordan too.
Awesone racing the battle between plato and ingram was the best all year both drivers giving just enough room and huge respect for each other after the race is down. Also shedden drove a good weekend also josh cook again a future champion along with ingram.
Tordoff and Jordan poor weekend from both, going to have to have a perfect weekend at Silverstone for any chance at the title. Turks and neal need to take points away from plato and shedden if not looks like a 2 way fight for it.
Silverstone will be a must win weekend for turks and neal.

Rockingham is an awfully boring track but these historic touring cars are great.
I've driven the track - as used today. It was a fantastic experience. In the car, Turn 1 looks to have a 35 degree bank. It takes some cojones not to lift around there.I was in the south grandstand today, with a few wasps, and the racing from Turn 1 into the Dene hairpin was full on. A great day out.
So who are we going for to be 2015 champion im backing plato is driving has been excellent this year and isn't falling into the must go for every single point risking potential 3 good races. With Silverstone his best chance for wins with the cc and brands hatch gp which is also a favourite track of his its going to be tough for anyone to beat him. I do think we will se 5 drivers being in with the chance come the final meeting being the 2 Hondas 2 passats and Jordan in the mg being a rank outside but will be out of it by end of race 1 at brands.
Silverstone will be interesting we see how the Hondas go with more straight line speed but saying that Honda and mg have pretty similar mph at the speed traps last year so I do think it will be a struggle for Honda like the Passat at knockhill. Mgs should go well here and mat Jackson will also go well with the ford and with zero ballest for quali its going to be hard for anyone to beat him.

Who, what and why was Andy Wilmot's plan protested?
It's fairly obvious the "who" and there's been lots of speculation since the news came out on the "what" and "why".But, as with everything BTCC, it's down to money.
So now gilham is driving the car instead.
Im not one to see cars out of the series but I think its time for welch to call it a day after what has happened over the past few years its not doing themselves any good and it could be seen as causing harm to the series.

This apparently andy Wilmot was planned to be in the avensis but a certain team didn't agree with that doesn't take a genius to work out which one tbh.

I've not worked it out, hence the question. So now gilham is driving the car instead.

Does anyone know for a FACT who vetoed the plan?

It's a disrespect to his achievements to suggest that the whole thing is being bankrolled by his brother, if that was the case a full season in a factory team car would be pocket change for him.
This ^^My daughter & I chatted at some length to him at Rockingham and to say he's down to earth is an understatement. The guy is the most self deprecating, knowledgeable, humble and enthusiastic gentleman one could hope to meet.
I have no problems seeing him return next year.
Because hes not in the top 10 in the drivers standing so doesn't get any ballest.
Good results for aron smith and morgan 2-3 with shedden, turks and plato behind. Will smith try and get in the way of shedden to get plato and turks through.
Jackson for race 1 win though, plato for race 2 and tordoff for race 3.
