Wasn't like Shedden had gone into the weekend ahead on points, and wasn't nudged out of the way by Plato in race one, had race two ruined by someone hitting him which subsequently cocked up his grid position for race three - it was definitely just that race that won the championship. Here was me thinking it was a 30 race championship decided on points. Points that Plato lost because he tried to be clever by starting from the pits and it backfired on a couple of occasions.

If he'd have taken those points then he probably wouldn't have gotten the amount of points he got later on in the day. Probably more due to seddon having more race finishes and arguably a better car.
I've seen sheddon do far more aggressive push to pass moves throughout the season than plato (yet plato has the reputation) end of the day it came down to that last race, and it was made easy for him, I'd hate that personally, but that's me.

You can pretty much see in the post race coverage how Plato is viewed by the paddock. There is no doubt he had an easy passage through from the back, but he still drove superbly. As far as Smith goes, you have to conclude JP has a point, he really held him up in the 2nd race which prevented the chance to take any more places.

not sure Id like to be thinking I won the champiosnhip because people made it easy for me, purely because they preffered me over the other guy...........
I'm not sure these people think like this, a win is a win regardless of how it comes about. Either were worthy champions, one just likes to play the panto villain the result of which is there for all to see.You could dig too deep into the BTCC and probably find there's some backdoor shenanigans going on in terms of performance, but leave your brain at the gate and watch the show unfold, you probably won't be too disappointed.
I certainly like it, they just managed to not schedule any races over bank holiday/school holiday weekends which makes travelling from Cornwall to watch it with the kids a bit tricky.
I notice the Plato hatters have not commented on how gracious Plato was bot the ehnd of the race / championship and since then when he could have had a very good moan.
I thought that he had a very clean year this year(and last year), by and large kept his nose clean with Andy Priaulx being the main dirty driver in 2015 which was a major disappointment for me.

I wouldn't mistake preference of champion for deference. In my experience there's definitely more of a shortage of manners than there is a lack of balls in the TOCA field!
No champion preference for me as the series is so bent it's irrelavent but it's just so weak to just bend over and offer up your ass, The only driver to try and keep him behind it was Goff. alsaautomotive said:
Unbelievable! So what Warren Scott said on camera on Sunday about the messages not being passed through to Aron Smith (via in-car radio), was, simply, bks?

Plato saying live in TV that Aron Smith should be sacked was very unprofessional.
I think Plato is hurting inside that Shedden has two titles the same as him and Neal has one more.He thinks he is the big "I am" of the championship and should have won five drivers titles so for the length he has been in the championship and the number of wins and the titles he has won should have done a lot better.
For race 3 Shedden had his engine turned up to qualifying mode where it gives black smoke out of the exhaust so it was a case of Champion or engine blow up.Yes he was a bit lucky with a few cars going off the circuit and people letting him pass quite easily but that would have happened if Plato was coming from the back.
The championship is won over 30 races and as Shedden had the most points he deserved to be champion.

Its not a diesel. Just cause Tim Harvey hits out with it on commentary doesn't mean it's actually happening. If you are interested there is a buy one get one free offer at Specsavers.

The soot, not smoke, shows its running a slightly rich mix. If they "turned it up for qualifying mode" they would lean it out and it would put out less soot.
I'm sure Tim Harvey did spraff some bobbins during the qualifying coverage harking back to the days of the RS500s when they did have qualifying boost and race boost. The world has moved on, boost levels are set by TOCA for the season. Unless of course you're suggesting, in a magnanimous show of sportsmanship, Honda only run their maximum allowed boost in qualifying then hobble their car for the races just to make things interesting. Doubt it somehow.
