I'd be very very surprised if Macau happened, it's common knowledge that the smaller teams struggle with the expenses to get to Knockhill, Scotland let alone Asia. Plus, Macau is notorious for crashes so teams would never be able to afford damages on top of travel, just can't see it working.

Quite right, the team's have been offered financial help in terms of travel, accommodation and car transportation, but the running costs would be down to finding extra budget. Just isn't going to happen.

Strange? In what way? He lost his sponsorship from last year. Simple as. These BTCC seats are expensive.
Strange that a double champion and a class bloke can't attract sponsorship, while others....are not can!DiscoColin said:
An appreciable chunk of the sponsorship in the BTCC comes from the family firms and connections of the drivers. Sponsorship in motorsport very often follows the driver rather than the car (as evidenced by Priaux coming into the BMW with IHG, who have backed him with various brands since his WTCC days), so if he didn't have the backing to continue last time he won the title and doesn't now either, is that actually a surprise? Really? Perhaps he ought to have invested more effort in schmoozing sponsors and exploiting his profile as champion?
To be fair, his website does appear to finally reflect current events. Also, all the sponsors from last year, except ebay, appear to be there.I think we will see plato and turks with bmr along with aron smith will be a strong team if true.
888 would be good to see tom ingram there alongside Jordan we would do well there also very quiet on the 3rd car.a
Eurotech has a spare seat be interesting to see who is there.
Motorbase Jackson should be there and with alex martin in the 3rd satalite car theres another seat there.
Team hard still unsure on drivers, or how many cars.
Rotek is looking like they wont be there and UA too.
I think we wont see many new updates until media day tbh.
