Honda are going back to the hatch, but the Tourer was just the old hatchbacks with a new roof, 3/4 panel and bootlid. They're just going back to the hatchbacks back layout again with the same cars this year, but new Type R style bumpers. Nothing new, just a better weight distribution and handling again.

Its suprising how alike the mg6 and Passat are in terms of overall shape.

Its going to be an interesting year as long as motorbase get on it well at the beginning of the year carrying on from last year where matt Jackson scored more points than anyone else in the last few meets they will be out assuming Jackson stays along with Honda with a known package and quick straight away.
Jordan he will have to learn the new style of car still no words on team mate.
Wsr collard should be the quickest at the early stages as he knows the car I expect him to be quick at brands hatch while tordoff will take some time learning rwd again and priaux to ngtc cars.

Honda known package same drivers if the car is good it be quick and consistent.

Bmr well the car is a race winner smith proved that last year so as he has had experience I do expect him to be the quicker driver at the first meeting with plato just behind him and turks a bit further back. Wont be till mid season turks will get more comftable with the car and be at the front so plato does need to score well at the beginning.

Eurotech well complete unknown jeff smith might nab a race win still unknowns about 2nd driver.

We have an easy 10 cars that can win races 3 wsr cars, 2 Honda, 1 mg, 3 bmr, 1/2 motorbase cars then rar is an unpredictable team can be either no where or up the front, knockhill and rockingham seems to be good tracks for them.

And a few weeks back a few people were moaning about the lack of quality of drivers and all these new drivers weren't that good.

Just need to find out the others drivers oh and UA second car and tbl is now for sale.

Some great pics there Matt97, nice to see the cars out on track again - cant wait for media day.

Looking at those pics has set me wondering about something touched on a few weeks back that I still think is likely, but does intrigue me. That being the fact that, due to such little money being around for sponsorship, and so many drivers struggling to scrape together the subsequent dollar to finance themselves for a season, potentially we are looking at some of the multicar teams running different colour schemes/sponsors over all of their cars.
Seeing that of the three WSR cars, Priaulx's car was the only one really carrying its race colours, does this mean that the IHG sponsorship only covers Priaulx's car and not all three?? If this is the case, intrigued to see what sponsorship the other two cars will be wearing.

first test and race is always interesting to see who is on the money at the start, are there any changes to the boost rules this year and will they be published so we can see who is being allowed to run full power and who is racing with a hand tied behind their back?
Equalisation/manipulation through boost is the only reason the series is so close in my mind I have come to accept it as it is all about the show but the purist in me wishes it were an engineering formula still where the best car/driver is at the front not the ones allowed more power than the rest to make it close.
Don`t get me wrong they clearly do it well and it is great entertainment to watch but I don`t necessarily believe the best car/driver wins.

Last I heard they were changing the boost formula and the way it was applied.

I also have a vague recollection that they were dumping the boost adjustments mid season and doubling the weight penalties instead, but I might have got that wrong

BTCC in October said:
Following the annual end of season meeting between the participating teams and TOCA, the following notable changes to the sporting regulations of the 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship have been agreed;

•The amount of success ballast will considerably increase from the current level of a maximum 45kg’s. The exact increases will be finalized following further analysis. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) cars will carry their success ballast as far forward in the cabin as possible, in order to better equalise the front to rear weight balance between both drivetrain formats.

•Cosworth and Xtrac will independently analyse the start-line performances and in-gear acceleration of front and rear-wheel drive cars with a view to more equalising them through engine management programming.

•All engines have now been re-tested and re-validated by both TOCA and an independent specialist company – this will result in a boost level being set for each car/engine type for the season. As the larger amount of success ballast will have a greater effect than before, the lap-time boost level adjustment can be dropped.

•Each car must still use the Dunlop Sport Maxx ‘Soft Tyre’ for one race per 9 events* but each car must use them three times in race 1, three times in race 2 and three times in race 3 during the course of the season. (*Thruxton event does not apply as the soft tyre is not used at the venue)

•The grid for race 2 at each event will be set in the order of the fastest lap times achieved in race 1. If during race 1 a driver changes one or more tyres of the same type then any quicker lap time (if achieved) after that tyre change will be discounted.

•It is anticipated that The Jack Sears Trophy will be awarded to the top ‘Rookie Driver’, providing enough new drivers enter to make it worthwhile. Otherwise it will be awarded to the top single-car team of the year.
The grid change for race 2 I think is pointless, but it adds an extra layer of strategy that Tim Harvey will be able to waffle gibberish over so probably adds TV appeal.

The ballast instead of boost situation sounds decent, in as much as you only have 1 success penalty now, rather than 2.

Tordoff has annouced that he is doing ELMS with JMW Motorsport.

So two of WSR's drivers have got race clashes.

I'm surprised Dave didn't end up somewhere more competitive, decent driver with decent budget.

He doesn't have a decent budget. Hence his constant moving around for a cut price and often subsidised deal.

Anyone else heard the budget spread for this year ?
Im told its £300k to get on the back of the grid to £1.3M for a front running car, WTF this was supposed to be a cost controlled formula!

It's not as much as that but you'd certainly need to remortgage the house.

Im suspecting both will do a full 10 races, todoff will as the deal with wsr came before the sports car deal.

This 100% the car wasn't brilliant but was plagued by the st rml engine once they swapped and got the 2 rds out of the way with low boost It did become more competitive.
With the 2nd year developing the car and a handy driver they should be up there in the top 15.
