So gutted about Motorbase. Wonder if they can do something along the Rob Austin lines and fund the team with fan sponsorship ?
Nicholas Hamilton really should have done a few more seasons in Clios first. I'd be suprised to see him in the top 20. The s3 was pants last year too.
Motorbase are a proper business, I think fan sponsorship is really unlikely as a lot of people in motorsport really dislike it and it would damage their image as a serious race team.Nicholas Hamilton really should have done a few more seasons in Clios first. I don't get the negative comments about Nic Hamilton personally, sure, he's far from a great talent, but BTCC is full of drivers with more money than driving ability bumbling around at the back so I'm sure he'll fit in just fine.
New Civic looks ace, thank god they got rid of the tourer.
In regards to Nic, I'd say it's because of the media focus being on him for Lewis' brother. Whereas the backrunners with big pockets can slip in without anybody questioning it, we've always known about his previous seasons and results.
I really do wish him the best but feel another couple of seasons in the Clio Cup for experience and a better car, would have given him a better stepping stone into BTCC.

Hell of a lot of people said Aidan should have spent a couple of seasons in Clios before going for it in BTCC.
Fair play to Hamilton for getting the drive together and just going for it. Yeah, I'm sure it will be a bit of a baptism of fire but I don't doubt he's got the support structure he needs around him and the added media exposure won't hurt the series, that's for sure.

Agreed. One or two of the teams are not happy about this.
What are you agreeing with? And what has it got to do with any of the other teams? And other teams are (apparently) allowed opinions as to the skills of drivers taking part.

Yeah good luck to him, I don't understand the negativity. There's a few uncompetitive drivers in uncompetitive cars so to single out Nicolas is unfair.
Completely this. If my euromillions jackpot comes up I too will be one of those drivers. And I wouldn't give a fk either, I'd be too buy enjoying being a touring car driver Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
