So who do we recon to be a first time winner this year a few strong drivers this year without a win in the btcc.

Top one being priaux although not sure if he even won in the production cup back in 2001 but he hasn't won in the main class.
Goff in the mg is another strong possibility along with ingram and moffet.

Could either smith or deeper sneak a win in the civic smith was close a few years back.

Im as always looking forward to the first race.
I may be wrong but I think Prilaux won a race overall in 2002 racing in a Honda Civic

Any chance of showing a bit of respect to the drivers by using capital letters for the names and spelling them correctly?
That make you feel good?

I would like to see Jack Goff, Jeff Smith and Tom Ingram win a race. I think Goff is most likely, Ingram possibly if he can string a good reverse grid race together and Smith probably only if it's a bit of a mad race.

Just noticed the Plato is running number 99 again on the entry list - could this still be in deference to Tesco Momentum 99?

Yes, looking at that pic from the Crash.net report I had forgotten about team Atomic Kitten. Now trying to forget I remembered.

Driving at the Goodwood members meeting he was wearing a race suit with Tesco plastered all over it so I would assume with him still keeping the number 99 as well this is pretty likely.

No one needed to be reminded about that, or the Atomic Kitten limited edition MG's. Now there's a future classic... hehe

I'm confused. You mean Andy Priaulx who won outright at Knockhill in 2002 in the Honda Civic Type R? Unless I imagined him doing that with my own eyes as I was soaked that day......
Well that's a new one on me knew he had raced in the production cup but dint knew he raced with the Honda in the main group let alone winning a race but this was back when I didn't watch it I was 10 at the time.

It's not that bad. wink

She's very active at following BTCC and does her own blog. She's also got media accreditation. I also saw her in one of the photos.

He raced in Renault Spyders and dominated, then had a few years in British F3 before his cameo at Oulton Park in 2001 in the Egg Astra. Then signed for Honda for 2002 before starting his BMW career. He never raced production class or national saloons, must be somebody else you're thinking of?

Another great day trip out for media day. Aiden Moffat looked on it from the word go n the Merc for both him and Morgan looked well sorted. Going to be close between all the BMR cars, pitty Smith had a gearbox problem which stopped his running early.

Heres my vid from the days action.

That was just last year's MG suit so don't read anything into that.

Ah ok, I caught a glimpse of it on camera and assumed it was a new one. Didn't think he would be wearing an out of date suit showing off sponsors he didn't have anymore

He has to wear a race suit and a helmet; if the new ones are not ready yet, then what do you expect him to wear?

I thought he did production cup as well didn't really follow it back than could be collard I was thinking off.
Anyway its good to have him back in the series will there be more winners this year than last year.

Plato/Turks/Smith/Neal/Shedden/Jordan/Goff/Tordoff/Collard/Priaulx all of them have the cars to win a race then you have Morgan/Moffet/Rob Austin/Ingram and if Motorbase come back in Jackson in with a shot then eurotech could under the right conditions win a race.

Im looking forward to the relationship between plato/turks and smith evolves and the battle between them as the season goes on all 3 are in with a chance.

Most professional drivers have a plain white race suit for occasions such as testing where they must not upset any sponsors. Mind you Goodwood was a race meeting, not a test so he would have needed one that was in date.
