Can't wait for this, should be a great flat out blast with the titles sown up! And with plenty of brits in the international field, the stages will be packed!

Looks like we are doing Sweet Lamb, Abirhirnant and Brenig. Bring on the mud! biggrin

Thinking about going to this but we've never been before. Would the Saturday at the castle be the best thing to go for? We won't be able to get there early as we're a couple of hours drive away

I'm taking my son to the Rally Fest at Chirk Castle on Saturday. What can I expect? Any tips on making the best of the day?

My previous rally experience has be on the smaller club rallies in forests.

Cheers

Steve

Getting up early is what rallying is about! I'm setting off at 4am and driving 100 miles to see shakedown!

Spec of the car has been set since May and the car tested with no problems, and gets kicked out 2 days before! It's not like there are any other cars in the class!

Aside from get there early, find a good spot to spectate from and keep that spot for as long as you can, there's not much more to advise for Chirk, it's a very short stage, cars are over before you know it.
Is getting to a forest with the kid an option?

Only real bonus of going to Chirk is the slowly sideways grp b display.

Ohh and take your own food unless your happy paying £3 for a tray of chips!

Gutted about the Porsche! But the FIA can only blame themselves for dragging the homologation process through.

When I looked the other day I was all set for Llandegla as that's what I'd found...seems it's now Clocaenog! £20 per ticket.

I'm thinking at going to Dyfnant on Saturday morning but it looks like it is starting earlier than last year. Then as a rallying virgin I arrived at around 9am and then spent 3 hours getting bored, cold and vowing I'd never go to a rally ever again. That soon changed when the cars came through but I'm now wondering if the earlier start means I can add tired to the cold and bored list?

I noticed that a lot of spectators were still coming in with minutes to go before the start so I'm guessing it is feasable to still get there for about 9 ready for a 10.10 start?

I'm also thinking of heading up to Aberhirant for the afternoon but I'm not sure if that would work? Logic would suggest staying at Dyfnant but it also means we're back to being cold and bored for 3 hours. I don't think I'm quite cut out for this rallying lark.

I'd be getting their a lot earlier than 9 o'clock - in fact, Id want to be in position stageside at that time. I think the car park opens at 8 o'clock Friday night; you're not a proper Rally fan unless you sleep in the car. And its far less hassle.

Honestly, I'd stay at the same stage all day; in the morning you get the WRC, followed by the Nationals, then the WRC are back. Just choose a different spot for the 2 WRC runs.

Oh, and enjoy!!!
