I'll be going but will likely not see much action outside of the service park. I'm helping servicing on the Mitsubishi WRC that's doing the National Event.
Fingers crossed we might get into a couple of stages at some point over the weekend. Looking forward to a lads weekend away with some beer and cars thrown in for good measure!
In the International I reckon Meeke will go like hell be in the top 3 then fall off the road.

Managed to nab a Land Rover for the weekend from Work, nice big fold flat seats, job jobbed. Can't wait.
I think it could be an interesting event, shame that people aren't fighting for the championship but it could (hopefully) mean people will be flat out (especially Meeke/Evans which would be an awesome win!)
Realistically, I think it'll be Latvala, Ogier and Mikklesen at the top, hopefully meeke can get a look in.

For the first time in 6 years (I think, may be more) I'm actually in the UK for part of this.
I shall be driving to Hafren Thursday evening, sleeping in the car and spectating on Hafren and Maesnant throughout Friday before heading back to Dubai.
I'm tipping Ogier for the win with Meeke on the podium (unless he does a McRae and throws it into the weeds at high speed!
Which Mitsi are you with, I'll try and get some photos for you

Anyone got any info about the shakedown on Thursday? Went to the one at Llandegla last year as only just down the road, I live in chestwr, and you just paid £15 on the door.
Only my second year going, went to the Chirk Castle stage as well last year which was a complete waste of time.
This year, I'll go to the shakedown on Thursday, Alwen for the 2 runs close together on the Sunday but not sure about the friday.
Is there anyway of seeing 4 runs by going to 2 stages twice? I saw someone above mentioned Hafren and Maesnant?
Could you do Garth 1, Maesnant 1, Garth 2 then Maesnant 2? Or is there too little time?

On another forum with some serious rally experts, they say not... the car park for Maesnant is shared with Hafren and apparently approximately 5 miles long on gravel.
You'd be parked so far back that you'd never make it.
Seeing Hafren and Maesnant might be possible depending on the walking distance between them and as long as you didn't want to see more than just the WRC cars through the first stage.

I went to chirk last year as the Girlfriend was taking here non rally fan father. What a complete mess.Only my second year going, went to the Chirk Castle stage as well last year which was a complete waste of time.

However I think more people turned up there last year than they did in the whole of 2012.
Looks to be much better run this year and have actually recommended it to people.
Anyway back to the point, with the silly long walks like last year switching between stages will be quite difficult unless you have a Segway.

Ok, what i don't understand though is on the Saturday for example, if you go to Clocaenog East at 7:52, the cars only come through again at 15:00, so do most people just stand there for hours waiting for the second run, or move on to another stage, either for the first run of that stage, or even the second, which makes the wait even longer?!However I think more people turned up there last year than they did in the whole of 2012.

Fridays not as bad a wait, but as I have my motorbike test in the afternoon and I need to get back to chester, i wouldn't mind trying to do 2 stages in the morning. Maybe Gartheiniog 1 then Maesnant 1. Im guessing most of the cars will be through Garth at about 8:20, i won't go too far in to the stage from the carpark so hopefully a quick walk back to the car, then what looks like a 20 minute drive to the Maesnant carpark (which says its the sweet lamb one), so hopefully arriving at 9:00, an hour before the first car is through.
Anyone know if the above is feasible or planning on doing anything similar?
Might work if you only watch the top 10 through the first stage before moving on, but I think it'll be tight? There will be a lot of traffic and the "car park" will be a narrow gravel track clogged with parked cars and late comers still arriving while you try and leave. You will be right at the back of the queue on the second stage with perhaps 45+ mins walk to the stage.
The long gap between runs is a bit of a pain, but it's not that bad by the time you factor in watching all the Nationals through and then time to walk around to different vantage points. I never sit still for long on a rally myself, I like exploring.

Who buys a £99 rally pass then? 1 stage for each of the 3 days is £20 so total = £60, even with the shakedown of £15/20 on top, still less than the pass for the whole thing. Are there people who move from stage to stage making the rally pass worth the money?

I was meaning your idea on Friday of two stages on the same morning, I think that'd be very tricky. Two stages in the same day is possible, I've done it with a World Rally Pass when the rally was in South Wales. It was *very* busy last year though, and I think it'll be the same this year, could even be a risk of not getting in the second stage because the car park is full. [sings] I'm so excited! doo doo do dooo doooo and I just cant hide it [/singing]
I'm doing start line of Maesnant, overnight near Aberystwyth and then up at stupid o'clock for Dyfnant instage! I've just got to finish this work day up and 1/2 day tomorrow before sorting everything out for a 4am start on Friday.
I'm going Latvala win, Ogier has the title so may not push so hard. then Meeke or Evans 3rd. Evans has the local knowledge having driven most of the stages multiple times, but Meeke has the speed and confidence advantage over Evans.
I really cant wait to hear the WRC Mini, Jimmy, Perez and the Escorts through the trees! And for the cracking glowing turbos and brakes in the dark of Dyfnant 2!!
Sorting my GoPro out to try and get some launch vids from friday and some night action saturday
