Race 3 was up for a while but got taken down, it wasn't anything spectacular.

So Ambrose has stepped down as main driver for DJR Team Penske.

This seems to have more than a hint of toys put of the pram.

Appears to be amicable, if odd - behind the scenes might look different.

He didn't have a great weekend in Sydney but qualifying 8th for the big race in Adelaide and finishing 12th wasn't too shabby.

Shame.

It makes no sense. It was built up to be this massive comeback and to have the legendary Penske racing team in the V8's. Now he's stepped down as he's not adapting and will be driving in the support category and they have given the drive to Pye.

Why would you go down a series to gain familiarity with the series? The cars are last years or older? Are they even the COTF spec? Surley Ambrose would do better than Pye this year. All I can remember Pye doing was having massive shunts.

Judging by FPR's results this week end there is nothing wrong with the FGX falcon.

There must be more to it. Maybe he didn't like being kicked around this weekend?

I know it was early doors - but ambrose did look way off the pace to me tbh.

Shame, cos like everyone I was really hoping he'd be in the mix - was always great to watch first time round and his drive at watkins glen in the nationwide series last year (battling kyle busch IIRC) proved his substantial talent.

Shaping up for a good year so far though.

Bit of a bump here it seems. Can't believe this isn't more popular!

Did a Contiki trip down the East Coast and by pure chance, we were in Gold Coast the Sat and Sunday nights the V8s were in town and the Sunday was an 'activity day', couldn't quite believe my luck there, gen admission bought for me, a couple of Canadian girls and a couple from Ireland and we had probably the best day of the trip soaking up the atmosphere and the sound. Struggled to follow it much but the new TV picks up Motors on Freeview so I can't wait to get into it now.

Normally frowned upon to post a pic of yourself on PH but the go pro and stick combo got a good workout that day.

I am currently trying to plan a trip to the Bathurst 1000, not as a spectator but to help a mate in the Ute's and the main race.

The wife has green lighted the trip and I quote "if you are going to Australia, then don't think you are going on your own." I just need to do a few more flights on Emirates (New York week after next) then I should have enough air miles.

Nice one. I usually head up to GC every year. Definitely the best on track atmosphere from all of the races I've been to.
Not quite the same as a few years ago. Topless women on every second balcony and even girls running naked through the streets.
It's a tad more family friendly these days.

It was brilliant. Such a good atmosphere around the city despite the resident roid heads pushing their escorts around! Must have been crazy a few years ago. Another highlight was the Sunday night when the precession of trucks were leaving the city.

We lucked out so much. The trip hotel was the Australis which was one block away from the hairpin bend! Arrived on the Saturday afternoon to the sound of the cars echoing around and the helicopter flying over our heads.

Roll on Friday, then off to Barbagallo for the three day Perth Supersprint!

Now let me see, it's about a 10 minute drive, should I run the gauntlet and drive, or get the free bus? The joys of living so close!

Looking forward to a visit to the HRT pit garage too.

Fingers crossed for dry weather..........

Seems like such a long time ago we had a race weekend for the V8s. Seems ridiculous to have such big gaps between weekends at the start of the season.

I keep thinking the same thing and looking at the race calendar because I'm sure I've missed something.

Guys, I have to say, being at a V8 Supercars race live when you are near the start line with twenty odd cars holding their revs up waiting for the lights to go out is something that should be on everyone's bucket list!

Oh yeah, and when you also get to meet someone who drove like he did on the Sunday's race.............

I'm a big HRT fan, but the job that Fabian did with Freightliner Racing behind him, just amazing!
