Great news about JB. As regards the Senna Prost comparison, the Brazilian a driven man like no other, also ruthless to the same degree. Can`t forgive Senna for Japan 1990. Prost a master craftsman, the smooth pace impossible for anyone else, also a gent, ask Frank Williams.

Really? I would say LH and NR are stronger: LH and FA are equals really, but NR has upped his game a lot and I would say is comfortably a better and quicker driver than JB right now.
Going by points scored when team mates there's hardly much to separate all 3 drivers. JB outscored LH by 672 to 657 (over 3 seasons) and in 2007 when LH and FA were team mates, they both scored 109. So going by that statistic, JB is the better driver of the 3. But it doesn't matter what we think, the proof and the fun will be dealt with on the track in 2015 that's for sure. Not forgetting KR and SV as team mates too. I think it's the best and most interesting driver pairings we've had in a very long time.

As has been seen year after year, it really does come down to the best car, and whether the car suits the drivers style of driving. If Mclaren and Honda can bridge that gap to Mercedes then 2015 is going to be very tight between the 4 drivers.

DR in the Red Bull is only going to come back even stronger next year too. Looking forward to the 2015 season.

Follow the money in F1. Fernando was signed so that he could bring his spanish sponsors to McLaren who have been unable to attract a Main Sponsor themselves. Honda wanted a marketable pair of drivers for their market in Japan.
The shareholders of McLaren, Mansour Ojjeh (TAG) 25% and the Bahrain Sovereign Wealth Fund (50%) outvoted Ron Dennis (25%) over retaining Jenson Button (Kevin was Ron & Eric Boullier's choice). Movistar will become a team sponsor.
The delays were partly caused by Ron's inability to borrow £300 million in time to buy a further 25% share of McLaren before the second driver was voted on. In my opinion, given equal cars on the grid McLaren & Ferrari have the best pairings, closely followed by Mercedes. However we have to pray Honda have designed a reliable screamer of a power unit. I always rated Prost a better driver than Senna and certainly a fairer driver, but they were both legends on the track and off too.

Lewis beat jenson 2-1 over the 3 seasons.

Lewis beat Fernando over the one season they were together.

So this season will determine who comes out 2nd and 3rd out of the 3.
Head says fernando, heart says jenson. Head normally comes out on top.

hmm, Prost a gentleman - quite a sore loser as well- do you remember him running to the stewards to have senna disqualified for using the escape road?

Japan 1990 when pole sitter Senna started on the dirty side of the track.

How was his smooth pace impossible for anyone else when he was out qualified by Senna in nearly every race? And in the rain when smooth pays extra dividend Prost couldn't compete.

To Jenson: Prost over Ayrton? honestly?
So surprised?? Master tactician over egocentric God botherer? I'm with JB.
For 'master tactician' read happy to be first of the losers.

"Jean Marie, stop the race" (I do not have enough rain skill to beat him in my far superior car)

No strong opinions then.

Seems to be the best result for all.
KM gets to be in from the beginning and will step up when one leaves.
Alonso gets to rewrite history and seal his place in history and even more so if he gets another title.
JB get to go out on a high.
McLaren get the best drivers they could for less money in JB's case and start an assault on the title again.

Until Dorna stop making a mess of MotoGP then F1 is back on, great.

Even if the Honda engine is the best engine next year that won't be enough for McLaren to win, they really need to improve their aero and their chassis could be better also. Remember they ran a Mercedes engine this year which was the best engine, but it didn't do them much good.

I do like JB though so hopefully their 2015 car is much improved and Jenson can have a good go at the championship.

Alonso and Button, a phenomenal driver line up and a perfect one for developing the new car. The team will need time to develop the car but McLaren Honda will be back to the top. Great news!

You sound well informed. Are you sure you're in the right place?

Surprised no-one's mentioned SV & KR. Give them a car that suits their driving style (stronger front end for Kimi please but no Seb, sorry, you still can't have a blown exhaust for mid-corner down-force), eek a little more power out the engine and a better 2015 aero package, they should be exceptionally strong.
We are talking about the same team (Ferrari) aren't we ?

Superior car with early carbon brakes that weren't generating any heat in the monsoon.

The Senna myth machine footage that gets replayed over and over again fails to mention that or that Bellof was catching Senna.

Count me in the Prost the master and Senna the spoilt brat camp.

The results don't suggest that Prost was the master of Senna. Both great drivers though. I think they were both v determined and were both very ruthless, with Prost being more political than Senna. Really not sure why you think Senna was a "spoilt brat" - he had to earn his drive when he came to Europe.

Btw, back on topic, cant wait to see jenson and nando in McLaren next year - great driver pairing, should make things interesting...

Lewis H Jenson B and Fernando A are all superlative drivers ..... and all world champions.

But in terms of which one is best when the chips are down I have just one word to say:

CANADA

I doubt whether anyone will ever drive a better race.

Cannot help thinking Button is going to get his butt served up to him on a plate by Alonso. I like Button, but for his legacy I dont think he should have taken the seat. I said the same about pairing him with Lewis too. Fair play to him for taking it though, lets see what he has got.
