What ever happened to the 3 peugeot 205 t16 pikes peak cars?
Discussion
There's a video on youtube (or at least there was) of a load of Peugeot's famous rally cars and such in a storage warehouse.
I know they've got a museum in Sochaux so it was probably the museum storage compound but I'd be willing to bet they're there.
Edit - here's the video at least.

That's a Dakar 205 and a Pikes Peak 405, so not what the OP was asking about.https://www.flickr.com/photos/dusson/10043200934/

This is Ari in 1987 in the Pikes Peak 205T16E2
peugeot reckon 600bhp for this car!!!!!! but if you look into what the evo2 rally drivers were pushing out at the time which was up to 650 bhp according to Juha K (peugeot asked them how much power they wanted the cars to have and they capped it at that as they did not want any more). I personally have heard over 700bhp and possible up to 800bhp and the car was around 150kg lighter as well. People reckon the Audi had 1000bhp though but not 100% sure on them figures either.

Hi all just got an update from the Peugeot mueseum. One of the pikes peak 205 t16 actually got stripped out and the bits put into a 405 of some sort. I am still waitin for more info at the moment though.
Yes, this has already been mentioned in earlier posts. The following year (1988) Peugeot & Ari went back to Pikes Peak with the 405T16, effectively a re-shell of the previous years's 205, with a longer wheelbase and a few added tweeks and mods. This car is retained by the Peugeot museum IIRC.
Pikes Peak 1988
I seam to remember seeing one at the Goodwood Festival a few years ago ??

Lawsuit brought about by the Sierra Club, which is a US based environmental organisation. The paving of Pikes Peak is the result of a Sierra Club lawsuit settled by the town of Colorado Springs in 1999. The Sierra Club sued saying that the town was damaging the mountain (National Forest land) in terms of runoff and excess gravel used to maintain the loose surface road to the top and was violating the "Clean Water Act".
The town fought the lawsuit briefly out of concern for what impact it would have on the annual Hillclimb and the cost to pave the road to the top of the 14,110 mountain but then gave in, seeing the writing on the legal wall with the Sierra Club likely better and more aggressively funded in this effort than the taxpayers of Colorado Springs.
And so some 12 years after capitulation, Pikes Peak was eventaully paved from top to bottom and I guess the environment there is "saved".
