Spectator info is up for the Somerset Stages..

http://www.somersetstagesrally.com/spectators/

I see there will be road closures in and around the non spectator stages, trying to stop people getting in. Can't see them stopping people getting to the Polock stage, unless they cancel it.

Hyundai have announced the new I20 WRC won't compete till next year now. Even with the planned updates for this years car, it is such a shame for Neuville!

If you were Neuville you'd be pretty p'eed off. I'm not sure what's going there, but it's slightly worrying. They were testing the 5 door, but were going to use the 3 door, but have now changed their minds. Disappointing.....
And the talk of a 'N' performance road car has gone quiet as well.

Anybody heading to the Somerset Stages tomorrow?

Really not sure what my plan is at the moment, as I really think this time that non-spectator stages really will be that, and I don't want to end up in a sheep pen, listening to a commentator telling me the obvious.

Not that I don't appreciate all the hard work that goes into the rally, or understand the reasoning behind it all.

You'll be able to find a way into Croydon and Toll Road without issue , may have to walk a bit but easy enough . Enjoy

Just had breakfast at rally HQ, early start for us in the marshal/speccy control cars at the head of the field.

The event has completely taken over the seafront area of Minhead, quite impressive to see.

Weather looks good for it too.

Despite it being absolutely arctic first thing, it wasn't a bad days rallying at all. Started the day just before the flying finish of Porlock, before heading to the spectator stage at Chargot, which was pretty busy and very dusty! A few people I know made it into Croydon, with the marshalls just having a friendly word before they went into the stage. Just the way it should be IMO. Would lovd to have gone with them, but with an FA cup semi-final to get back for it wasnt worth the potential hassle, or rushing around. Shame that Bird retired as it would have been a great battle with Weston Jr for the win!

Didn't take many pics, but will put a few up in a couple days time.

Has Kubica had his invoice for the end of last season and first 3 rounds of this season in from the team and he needs to save money wink

I hear it may actually be down to budget and sponsorship issues mind. but nothing is really being given away bu RKRacing

The Tour de Corse route seems a decent compromise, and probably much better for spectators and TV.

As for Bob it really wouldn't be a surprise if it was money issues, with all the damage that has had to be fixed! Sponsors want results very quickly these days.

I always thought Kubica's sponsors would be pretty happy with the amount of screen time he gets - being spectacular and then crashing gets noticed more often than being calm and consistent.
