I'll be at the Wydean too. Last time I went Andy Burton was competing! So any tips for spectators would be nice.

I keep on meaning to make a few trips over the channel to a French/Belgian/dutch event, hopefully later in the year it will actually happen!

I don't find any livery this year particularly exciting except maybe Martin Prokop.

The VW probably looks the best. The others are a little bland - as for the Citroen - oh dear. It's as if they're not trying. The DS3 would look good if it was all red like the old Xsara WRC.

Mrs Chev and I have made the rather impetuous decision to go to Rally Finland for our summer hols this year. Any recommendations for best stages, etc. gratefully received.

I was told when I was going to make the trip to Finland that everywhere is spectacular! Sadly never made the trip due to outside interference Enjoy it!

Kubica looks ragged! I still think he'll bin it on the event. he'll get caught out on a patch of ice/snow.


Anyone else notice the dropping of the 'R brand' on the Polo? could VW have backed out of a Polo R for a road car?

I hope for a 2011 type Monte, were a tyre lottery decided the event. I'm not sure we need to see another VW cakewalk; a bit of mixed conditions would do nicely - to shake everything up. I'm not sure what to expect from Loeb....
As for Kubica, while he's on Pirellis which could be the tyres to have in mixed conditions, I can't see him lasting the event, before chucking it off. There's no doubting his talent, I wonder whether he's actually learning.

Nothing impetuous about going to WRC Finland, it's a simply epic event. Mind boggling speed, a nation that loves their rallying (and their drink ..... so look out for comatose rally fans asleep under their campers if the weather is good). A brilliant event with no bad stages ! ! I'll try and dig out my rally guide and establish where we spectated back in 2004.

That would be awesome, thanks so much. I've been to many forms of racing around the world but have only limited experience of the RAC (as it was) and Rally of Wales; never seen a WRC event abroad before. Any help from your 2004 rally guide would be enormously appreciated. Mrs Chev has some Finnish friends who are currently investigating a cottage out in the sticks for us to stay in. Apparently all Finns have a cottage!
