Christ! Didn't realise Mads had hit the logging truck!! I thought he'd binned it to avoid hitting it!!

Mads and Jonas have pulled out of Australia due to their injuries making it too uncomfortable to continue. Shame for them both.
But big questions for Aus organisers on how the truck got on the stage during the recce and coming in the opposite direction to rally direction.

I'm almost sure they are. I know cars in local rally's car kept to the national speed limits anyway!

Sounds like they were following recce speed limit but nobody had told the truckie that it was on and he was honking along in the middle of the road not expecting to meet anyone coming the other way. Ostberg went for the gap on the right as it was bigger, but not big enough!

Big moment for Ogier in shakedown, almost rolled but somehow got it back on 4 wheels.

Just back from the Rally opening event. This'll make a difference to the years spent in the depths of freezing cold Wales.

You just know that if the big 2 wheeled moment had happened to Meeke, it would have gone over and bent the cage!! Champions luck and skill for Ogier there!

Looks like dust is causing issues in Rally Australia; and then they had a night stage. Marvellous.....great planning that is.
I'm all for night stages, but don't have them in dry, dusty conditions - just asking for trouble.

It is sometimes hard to tell where skill ends and luck begins isn't it.

Thought this deserved a post. It was posted on reddit and is 20 minute documentary on two lads preparing for their next rallies in Wales!

The new I20 Wrc was unveiled today and to me it looks so much better than the current machine.

I'm absolutely praying that this thing can give the Polo a run for its money, Vw have had it too easy this year!

Looks a lot better than the current version (though that isn't saying much). Still doesn't make me go 'Wow!!' Which WRCars need to do.

Still a 5 door. I thought they put back the launch of the new one as they were homologating the 3dr?
Unless this is still just the test mule as the 3dr still isn't ready?

As I understand it they originally planned to use the 3-door, and development got pushed back when they had to switch to the 5-door because Hyundai wasn't making enough 3-door versions for homologation.

how can you fulfill this " To the best of my belief the driver(s) possess(es) the standard of competence necessary for an event" if it is your first event?
